do they still exist? i have tried every thing and not got even one this whole season, plenty of hours. its the only thing preventing me from finishing the alter , i have tried kadala with a monk at level 31 thousands of times, tried the cube a few times, but hve not got one. any ways d4 new season is starting in a few days so i guess i will miss out on finishing the alter and be happy with completing the season quest and chapters

I do not think you will ever get an ancient item from drop or Kadala if you’re not lvl 70. Also, I do not think reforging a sub-lvl70 item will ever yield an ancient item.

Someone already beaten me to it but yes, Ancient quality items require level 70. Gamble from Kadala as a level 70 character then upgrade those rings. If you have no patience left then be sure you have enough Primal dust and upgrade a level 70 Puzzle ring to a Primal by the eleventh recipe in Cube and use it for Altar.
You only would gamble from Kadala as a level 31 Monk or Witch Doctor to get in Vaults as low level (6-12) character. Just so you can acquire Ethereals from Greed.

Another thing: why even “waste” time on the Altar if season journey in d3 and then playing d4 are your priorities?

Ancient Items
- Only drop for characters who have reached level 70, and only on Torment level difficulties
…
- They drop from all sources including monsters, chests, Kadala, Horadric Caches, Kanai’s Cube, and even crafting at the Blacksmith or Jeweler

something to do while i wait for the next season of d4 , i like d2 but d2r kills me, because the only reason i still play d3 is i dont have to play the campain, d2r forces one to play the crappy story line every single season and then make baal and diablo runs when done with that

You don’t have to do that. There are better places to farm. While Diablo and Baal at Hell offer really unique affixes for some item types, they don’t worth wasting the entirety of your play time. As I remember Diablo and Baal has a chance to drop a very good large charm with certain cold and fire damage affixes at Hell difficulty. Yet that shouldn’t stop you when you fail to farm it once to rinse the whole session to start again.
There are also Terrorized areas in D2R beside area level 85 spots, boss runs, ubers, Dclone and quirky small dungeons.

i did all that thousands of time and still no ring, i finally had to use some prime ashes to get it done but now i am two primals short of having enough to finish the alter and that could take a heck of a lot of time. was trying to avoid that , but i nevr got the ring so had to go that route
You have a fully functional Tal Rasha and over 1K paragon so you can run visions and speed GRs like there is no tomorrow. 
Be sure to have all 4 tal rasha stacks up and maybe use some other gems than toxin and stricken for these runs.

This is where maxroll website is good with there ideas for speed builds. Very handy for not having to reinvent the wheel all the time.
