Alter of Frustration

Found a ramaladni’s gift, gave it to a buddy. The alter requires one.

Just opened my challenge rift cache. The alter requires one. So now I have to wait an entire week for my next ability? dats cool.

I suggest anyone reading this to look up what you need beforehand. don’t make my mistake.

It’s been fairly well known that a CR cache was needed due to all the discussion around whether to use it for initial leveling (like usual) or to save it for the altar.

But yeah, when the season blog came out, I made a mental note of everything needed. It was a huge help.

im having the same frustration! i don’t mind having consequences for choices in game because that’s the point. But nothing should get locked behind a 1 week penalty without other warning…

All these new people on the forum complaining about this or that, you would think they would read the blogs.

I received the first one on Friday and the second one on Monday, good to go.

There was a warning, all Altar requirements were clearly listed in the season preview blog.

Two seasonal articles were published that listed all the sacrific materials. The first was about a month before the season started, the second was within a week of it starting. Additionally, there were links to both in Blue posts here on the forums. Even further, fan sites have created extensive content on the altar mechanic, including the sacrifice materials, which is all super helpful.

altar requirements being listed in a blog doesn’t offer in-game implications. CR caches are a gimmick convenience item that spawns items that could otherwise be farmed. Simply completing that weeks challenge should be the requirement for the Altar.

Someone even posted an interactive version of the altar that you could click on to see what you need to do and what it would cost. If some people do not even try to stay informed whose fault is it.

Keep an eye on the s28 blog for the requirements.

Only screwed up with some bloodshards here (kadala before sacrifice).

screw ups are fine and having consequences in game are natural. everything else required in the Altar can be farmed. imo it’s a poor design to have a weekly item be a requirement. especially given that weekly item only offers items that could be farmed anyways.

This is such a bad complaint honestly. It wouldn’t be if we had no clue it was going to happen, but you decided to not educate yourself on the season before playing it. So why are you whining about your own bad decisions?

i have over 4k hours spent in d3, nothing progress related has ever been put behind a wall that can’t be farmed. every item in the CR Cache can be farmed. it is absolutely ridiculous to have it be a requirement for the Altar of Rites.

It’s completely fine if you don’t like it.

I was only addressing the fact that there have been ample resources regarding the season theme/altar mechanics. You had warning on how to avoid what you don’t like.

And you only have less than 700 career paragon? I call BS, unless you spend all your time on normal difficulty. And if you do have that much experience, then you have absolutely no excuse for not knowing how to prepare for a season, which includes reading up on the season powers and theme.

You could have had two challenge caches already

One from Fri-Mon last week, and another from yesterday which is also hilariously easy

Or you can just wait a week and grind out the future sacrifices. Let me just say, ‘get on the ancient puzzle ring/hellfire amulet’ early

LOL, yup, had an ancient puzzle too.

If you don’t get another ancient puzzle before you get some primals, you can use the cube to upgrade a normal ring to a primal and use that.

Not ideal, but it works in a pinch.

I dont see OP complaining much, its just a fair warning to not make his mistake.
To add to his mistake, i also made a doofus mistake by opening the altar, and right clicking my cache, but instead of sacrificing it, by right clicking i opened my cache and now have to wait another week to progress on the altar

Yeah, pretty much. Thanks dude. The tough love did surprise me a little but this is the d3 forums lol.

Read patch notes. Got it.
