will altar of rites be permanent for every game mode please !!! its verry fun and usefull
Nope.
This is the season theme. Though at some point in the future they may return to it when they start recycling the themes.
It definitely need to carry over to nonseason as standard.
If they did, they would have to nerf the thing. Its too overpowered for non-season.
Too which I say, So What?
I mean, it’s not like it would suddenly break the game if everyone was doing 150’s in non-season. If that scenario works in Season then it can work in non-season.
This isn’t to say that I expect it to stay, but if it did they don’t necessarily have to nerf it. Though, I definitely think it goes away when the season ends.
Like I’ve said multiple times, keep the QoL features, ditch the rest.
All the power and toughness buffs need to go away, period. The power creep is already at atrocious levels even without the Altar, there’s zero valid excuse to make it even worse. Not one.
Nope…All or nothin’.
See I can make absurd statements too.
I think the very success and popularity of this season’s theme pretty much guarantees that nothing will move to the non-season play. They will keep it intact as one of the themes that gets recycled in future seasons. Moving some of the QOL items to non-season would mean adding even more powers to take their place, which seems to be too much change given that they will be winding D3 down.
I suspect the current season will continue past the release of D4. There will probably be a large exodus of players to that game. Then the next patch and season will essentially be a polish and repair patch, fixing whatever issues they can in order to make the game as maintenance-free as possible.
I think there is a possibility the Altar may go core game.
It really is the culmination of all things QoL for D3.
Funny thing tho:
Blizzard finally make the most perfect patch to leave D3 alone with and D4 is around the corner.
This is likely my last D3 season or last time I play D3 ever.
Agree. I just reinstalled this game because D4 beta reignited my passion for a diablo game. And this was the best thing to do while waiting for D4 release. And while I am enjoying it, I will definitely be on D4 and beyond when it releases.
Lloyd was there! enuf said!
And this has been the game for 12 years. D3 is known for 2 things: smooth combat and out of control power creep. Adding 10 GR’s of power creep onto a game that has experienced over 100 GR’s of power creep is no big deal.
Well, now the average person who plays a pathetic 2-4 hours a day actually has a chance of doing GR150. The only people the Altar hurts are the small percentage of cheaters who grind insane amounts of paragon and the even smaller percentage of legit players who grind insane amounts of paragon.
If the altar makes the top .1% of the player base unhappy, but makes the remaining 99.9% of the player base very happy, I say keep it. Even with the Altar, 90% of the player base still isn’t going to do a 150 this season.
If I read it right in another post, I am not sure if it will make the cut or not, since after season 29 or 30, there will be no more seasons.
I am guessing new content or fixes for D3 will be nonexistent or very limited. (I can be wrong, I hope so).
There will be seasons after season 29, they’ll just be recycled themes. Like, Soulstones will come back for a season. Ethereals in another and so on and so on.
Will Diablo III continue to have new Season themes or will they start repeating after Season 28?
Season 29 will have a new Season theme. Rod Fergusson elaborated further “it won’t be as rich as Season 28”. Starting with Season 30 previous Seasons will be repeated. There will be “a mix and match of previous cosmetics and features that made up previous Seasons”. Future development efforts will go into Diablo IV. - Wowhead Interview
If they keep all the buffs from the altar and we get recycled OP seasons like ethereal or soulstone, it will be over the top. On the other hand idc, do what you want, this will be my last season anyway.
Thanks, I guess I did not read that carefully enough. I guess that is better than total abandonment.
I will most likely buy D4, but I am not sure it will be as entertaining for me as D3 was. Just like those that play D3 but still prefer D2.
We will see. Since I started playing D3 it has changed a lot and to me for the better overall. I am hoping D4 will have a similar journey.
All they need to do is put whatever recycled theme they are going to use in one of the potion spots. This way, power will stay about where it is. It also gives the player a purpose, to unlock the seasonal theme.
Im absolutely loving the alter of rites. Its exactly whats been missing. If we had to take the damagage toughness worth in paragon id say it definately balances the game. If its worth 2k paragon it definately puts end game for most high tier builds in a reasonable grasp for any player. I absolutely have been playing diablo since 1997. This is the first time diablo has end game in mind and what an addition. Definately a must have permanent. Pls pls pls. All 10 of my characters would love this
I agree. From here every season can play around with the alter and adjust for season theme. This is definately a must need addition to the core game. Just like petrified screams and upgrade legendary. Good polishing of a brilliant game
