Altar of Rites PTR Change Notes - Cleaned up

Hover the mouse cursor over the icon displaying the seasonal buffs in the upper right corner. Soul Shards are clearly stated there. It is intended.

Hellforge Ember are quite plentiful in the Fissures.

Do you have to be lvl 70 to get the embers? At lvl 52 I have about 6 soul shards but no hellforge embers.

Possibly, I’m not certain.

I wouldn’t stress about upgrading the Shards. Just use regular gems until you get to level 70 and find enough Embers to upgrade.

the question was mostly placed due to the patch notes having no mentions of the soul shards of being introduced as well.

Also there is something different compared to the first time they did it, it seems the drop chance from bosses is significantly lower compared to S25. All in all i’m confused.

Also called them shards of hatred in my previous post, lol.

5%… thats some altar!!

Well, the patch notes made zero direct references about S30. I was actually expecting seasonless PTR and the theme would’ve remained a mystery. Since the Altar and Fissures become base features, I was expecting the in non-season as well.

Drop rates do fell lower, I agree.

I could not find the altar in non seasonal mode. It should becone available in all modes. Where is the altar??

When they stated that it would be available in all modes, Bliz was likely referring to the live game. I suspect that Bliz is steering players into the PTR’s season where the Soul Shards are.

xxxx: Good morning, Adam! Does this mean it will be available even in non-Seasonal or in every season, 30 and beyond?

Adam Fletcher: Yes

xxxxx: Will the Altar carry over to non-seasonal? I’d presume yes but just wanted to check

Adam Fletcher: Yes

Thank you…it finally made sense. Reading the PTR notes on balanced often seemed like they were saying the opposite of what they meant. Saying things were increased by a number lower than the previous number…which means it DECREASED…but it was just worded wrong.

Thanks for saying it coherently

Keeping your interest in a 11 year old game that makes them no money is the last thing they (the suits) want.

So I suppose… “Working as intended”?

Then release an expansion. D3 can make money still.
