Please let this ring set work on followers. It would give followers a nice damage boost and we would have a reason to look for ancient items to equip on our follower and maybe even augment them.
Group players could also benefit from this if the zDPS player has Asheara set on…
I think that the follower should be able to use LoN or LoD, not have them Emanate. Having the ring set (or the gem) emanate really wouldn’t do anything for you, since you’re likely using a set or using LoD or LoN yourself already. At the most, you’d gain one legendary gem slot in LoD builds or gain 2 ring slots in LoN builds.

But yeah, followers need to able to deal a decent damage to help solo players instead of just being a utility for players.

Because of the absolutely gargantuan power creep as well as exponential increase in difficulty, giving Followers access to LoN or even LoD would not boost them enough to make a significant damage impact in even GR 100.

My understanding is that gear buffs emanate. Legendary gems do not. Are you saying that the various set buffs and/or LG buffs do emanate?
My hope is that all legendary gear buffs would work for the follower, but only a select few would emanate power to the character. This would give two different builds to coordinate in a game, not one overlapping super hero.
At the moment Legendary gems don’t work on the follower. I don’t think it would be OP for the follower to gain the LoD or LoN bonus to be able to do some dps alongside our characters. As far as emanate goes, items or sets with emanate basically count as an extension of Kanai’s Cube for your character but also giving select set bonuses to your character.
So you actually asking to make D3 a two-character game.
Oh noes SOLO players might have a bigger choice in builds and GoD forbid they might be good enough to help clearing GR100 even faster.
Yet another mindless powah creep argument against SOLO players, cause they’re not allowed to get anything good only must be FORCED into 4 Man META groups ALL the time to gain anything…
The biggest POWER CREEP are 4 Man META groups clearing 150 GRs in 3 minutes or less in non season or 4 minutes in season with a strong season theme.
Allowing followers to gain the LoN legendary power might actually make this ring set USEFUL again as NO ONE is using it anymore, cause everyone uses the legendary LOD gem…
Mate, take a moment from your quick trigger nerdrage, and re-read what I said. Carefully.
Giving LoD/LoN to followers would do absolutely nothing. Because even with the bonus, Followers would NOT do enough damage to merit anything. At best, with LoD/LoN, followers would maybe do an extra amount of damage equal to 10 of the players skill uses across the entire GR.
On the PTR, even the best, highest damage follower setup cannot clear even GR 60 on it’s own. Giving LoD/LoN to followers is roughly 25 GRs worth of damage, meaning that they still fall far short of what most builds can push without much work done on them.
Even 25 GRs worth of damage is still better than nothing. I know that allowing LoN to be used by followers won’t suddenly make them good enough for easy GR100-120 clears, but it’s better than not getting it at all and it’s still makes farming even under GR100s much more efficient than it is right now…
Keep in mind that Krede’s Flame is currently one of the legendary items that will be shared on the Follower, so builds that have to generate resources will want Krede’s Flame on the Follower. It might even make it so that RGs with Fire attacks suddenly become the new “fishing” RG for those types of builds.
