Yes, what about the paladin? Is like a 90’s rugbier teenager… not a MAN OF HIS FATE i really dislike the new zon and paladin… the others chars are good
Ahh i cannot include links … d2tomb .com /images /paladin.jpg
The Paladin looks like Gary Coleman.
The zon looks like a guy with Donald Trump genes cosplaying the D2 Amazon because he lost a bet.
Barb looks like he quit steroids, not enough beef.
Assassin doesn’t look like a pale goth chick.
Necro is fine.
Sorc is fine, just gotta fix the hair a little.
Druid looks like he lives in a cardboard box, would start with a broken whiskey bottle instead of a Club, and would summon Pigeons to attack you.
Although I agree that that the faces and bodies of some classes look weird AF, we ultimately will be wearing helmets so you wont see the deviations from the originals.
That being said, the character creation screen will still display this “odd” stuff, so that’s why the Devs already stated they will work on these things as they agree with us.
My personal opinion:
-
Amazon - Needs to look more feminine, especially in the face, with less “anger”. “Her” face currently looks a bit like a friend of mine. HE is from Ukraine.
-
Paladin - Needs to slim down a bit in the face and nose, also I dont remember the original Paladin from D2 wearing “Afro” and having such deep dark skin like people from “Buka”, instead he had a buz-cut if you look at original pictures and in-game, and also had rather medium-dark skin. To be fair, in a lot of the artwork from D2, the paladin changes facial shape and skin colour from one artwork to the next lol. What I know for sure is that the Voice Actor was black, and the pally’s voice was awesome.
-
Barbarian - Needs to slightly slim down in the face, but get bulkier on the torso and legs (currently looks like “Dave Bautista” wtf - “cause you’ve never seen a miracle…”)
-
Assassin - The Assassin from D2 wasn’t Asian if you look at original Blizzard Artwork, she was a Short-Hair Pale-Caucasian.
-
Sorceress - Looks like a “THICK” Latina in D2R, she wasnt so “curvy” in the original (Even a friend of mine, Latina, laughed that she looks like the Sorc lol)
-
Druid - looks like an Old Irish Drunk in D2R, this wasn’t the case in the original
-
Necromancer Probably looks closest to the original as of now
Honestly, I feel like some of you will never be satisfied. The only character model that really needs to be worked on is the Amazon’s face because it just looks awful. The Paladin has a little darker skin with a bit of an afro and the Assassin looks Asian… Is that really going to do anything to your gameplay? Lol. Representation is good, it’s not like they’re changing core aspects of the game.
You have to ask the question. We saw this red flag day 1. Now Blizz been working on this and seeing this all day for a long time and raises no concern ? It has to be intentional. Also why put 100 lbs on druid lol
barbarian look a (2021)old batista off steroids
the druid look to never leave the buffet
i think the main issue with most d2re character they look old tired and fat , and dont have the right size compare d2
am i the only one thinking druid looks like tommy lee from mötley crue?
They are all bad. Assassin is second worse with amazon taking number 1 in worst looking. Paladin is next worse then the least worse is Druid or sorc. Sorc needs to be skinnier and shorter skirt tho…
Yes it does effect the game. Assassin is not Asian and paladin is not that dark and does not have a fro. Why change the game?
How does it effect the gameplay? Lol. Both classes will still play the same. Why change the game to updated graphics or add QOL features then?
They should just really update the graphics and design the new models to be as similar as possible to the old ones. I don’t want any QOL features at all. The more they change things the more it will become a Warcraft 3 reforged disaster.
paladin is not that dark and does not have a fro
Dude. What Diablo 2 have you been playing the last 20 years? The paladin was originally a dark skinned character with fuzzy hair. Go look at original concept art of him.
diablo.fandom.com/wiki/Paladin?file=Paladin-gray.jpg
Idk about that one, coach. His hair was pretty short, almost like a buzzcut. No afro lol.

I never said it was an afro, I said fuzzy (as in pixalated) lol…
I agree it was short, almost like a buzzcut or fade, but none the less, the skin tone was “dark” and the original concept has the features of a black man.
Netfix adaptation You are welcome!
If they’re focused on small intricate details such as adding garlic to a table next to racks of meat in Lut Gholein, why not do the designs of the characters properly like they were originally released?
Idk, I actually like all of the remake models. Plus the argument for the paladin is basically “hes too black”. Gotta love based and redpilled gamers.
They did that because its been discussed by the community since the game came out in 2000.
Only QoL features changed were ones we were working around. Changing load in screen characters has nothing to do with D2 work arounds.
Who is saying “hes too black”? He’s supposed to be black, he’s just not supposed to have an afro and a Gary Coleman face.
I would have been happier if they used Tyrael’s design from D3 and made his skin a little darker, even that would have been more accurate than what we have right now. The Paladin was one of the coolest looking characters in the original, and they made him look very different.
The community has been discussing why they should be precise with adding garlic to a rack of meat hanging on a table, but not focus on being accurate with the character’s designs? What?
The campfire select screen in D2 is one of the best and coolest character select screens in the history of gaming. It’s important that they nail it.
The characters have a more mysterious and gloomy feeling to them.
Their faces and half their bodies are covered by darkness and only a dim light from the fire shows parts of them until you select them and they come forward to the fire to present themselves to you. In the new select screen, there is no darkness, it’s too happy and clean and does not capture the same feeling.
