I managed a GR99 Hardcore DH clear shortly after this last Season ended, and I was quite happy with that. Ranked all my Legendary gems 100% solo, augmented a crappy Ancient bow with a 95, finished in just under 14 minutes, and didn’t die.
Then I saw a guy do a GR115 in just over 10 minutes, and I think, “Why do I even try?”
But then I looked a little closer, and I saw that while I am at P914, playing Hardcore, and don’t get to die even once in a GR, this other guy is more than 2,750 Paragon levels higher than me, and playing Normal. Then there is realization. It will get easier for me.
Not to worry there StonePro, when you compare your progress to anybody elses, you will almost always end up in 2nd place (or worse). Once or if the ‘other guy’ starts to really push, the inevitable ka-blam will come down on them , s\he will have a dead char and you will continue to push along.
@Hailfail
The difference between gr100 and gr150 is paragon and augments. Not skill
Yes and no, in the long run (the veeeery long run) a player that sucks but plays for years… Waiting to max out paragon level may be able to do a level 150 as if it was a walk in the park.
In the meanwhile a really good player will do it much earlier, thanks to knowing when to hit what and when. Full knowledge and understanding of their class and so on.
I myself was able to go to GR110 in season 19, but with the gear i was lucky to get another player would be able to do MUCH better at the same paragon level as me.
PS. I was able to clear 100 fairly easy, 110 with difficulty from 7 minutes left to no clear(!!!) and 115 was a WALL.

@Stonepro
Yep, no need to fret. I think that is excellent given the paragon level and all. Kudos for going HC/ Not my thing, hehehe, scares the cR@p out of me personally.
Thanks for the replies. It’s comforting to see that most responders are in roughly the same frame of mind.
As to the leaderboards, I don’t pay a lot of attention as to who is doing what and when, but nevertheless, even though I don’t put much stock in it, it’s still nice to see my name in lights, and in this particular instance, for however short-lived the time might be, I’m enjoying double digits on the solo Demon Hunter hard-core leaderboard.
Currently, that is GR99 at 12:06, which puts me at rank 24, same as I am now at the 98, but the leaderboards are glitchy, and not recording some personal bests.
Gratz on the PR. I play about double the amount on sc that I do on hc, but I am way more proud of what I have accomplished on hc. Nothing makes your heart pound more than being on pace to set a PR, then proc your second chance passive, and have the balls to continue on.
