Is there any point in using it anymore ? Not even talking about how good the new set is, just looking at what it does the 6p bonus seems rather paltry compared to others unless I’m misreading something?
It needs some tweaking, the problem it has is that it’s generic and the legendary power for certain skills are way out of whack. They can’t fix it as easily as they would be able to if they just balanced legendary powers like they should have years ago.

if you are happy playing at 115 or below it’s a very fun set
Still works fine for t16 key and db farming when you combine it with the crafted sets. IMO, nice and mindless, just how I like it for those activities.

I consider it very simple …
Just buff 1500% to 4000/5000% (3.3x = 8GRlvl) will be enough to make condemn competitive again. I am considering that AoV nerff will occur and will be between 139-141 with 10k paragon.
Akkhan can still combo decently with Condemn if you don’t have a full LoN Condemn build ready.
I really hope they just don’t nerf AoV and they tweak it so that Shotgun isn’t quite as good but Fist is better and the set is better overall.

Akkhan mechanics is outdated. They ought to give it a single purpose say condemn and stick with it.

It’s outdated because it was the only set for crusaders right after RoS. The mechanics are fine but set could use a tweak or 2 besides damage buff since generic damage is good. The legendary damage/power values are out of whack, that’s the biggest problem with bringing in line with other damage bonuses from sets.
Would be nice if they added all runes to AC, buffed the damage substantially and made the cool down either 60-75% for AC or made it generic 50% for everything. Condemn legendaries would need to be adjusted down possibly but I don’t know what they’re getting for clears these days.

Akkhan and LoD should be the home for Condemn, Blessed Shield, Bombardment and Phalanx.
Just crank up that Akkhan 6pc bonus and address the legendary Items for Bombardment and Phalanx. Done.

akkahns is good up to like GR115-120 with Condemn.
Which is higher than most players manage to go.
The issue is that a solid LoN condemn build is better, and that Akkhans is ONLY usable with Condemn.
It’s really 100% because of Condemn. At the time Blizz buffed all the other “no-skill used sets”, like IKC and Nats, Akkhans-Condemn was the TOP build by far. If they buffed Akkhans, Condemn still remains top build, and Blizz didn’t want that.
In order for Akkhan’s to be buffed, Condemn needs to be nerfed an appropiate amount equal to the buff.

It seems like Akkhan’s has declined due to overall damage creep in recent patches, but specifically to the introduction of the LoD gem and the introduction of the overwhelmingly powerful (and fun) Valor set.
For those who love condemn playstyle, Akkhan’s is still fun but no longer dominant. I’d definitely recommend a heavier buff to the set and a light buff to any items (i.e. frydher’s and blade of prophecy). The cool thing about Akkhan as a set is that its core mechanics work well - and with any skills (I still remember the Akkhan phalanx build) - and it is fun to play with condemn and I’d think it would be easy to tweak by increments to up the damage. I definitely think that LoD condemn and other LoD builds could be made more viable by legendary affix increases, but buffing the set is the only thing to make the set itself more viable.
The valor set actually offers a different challenge than LoD, being a whole new playstyle with a dominant push build and a decently fast speed build with norvald’s and FoH - faster than condemn, at any rate. I dont think that each set needs to be exactly comparable tier to tier in GR progression, but I think that 1-5 levels isnt unreasonable. A godly player should be able to make an A-tier set work nearly as well as an S-tier under the right conditions.
Maybe its just better to make Akkhan to a full focus Condemn set…?

Condemn is still a GR120+ option. It’s not like it’s total garbage. lol.
In Season 17 it was neck and neck with LoD blessed shield. Both are just so far behind Valor that no one really plays them anymore.

i have a pretty optimized Akkahn Condemn Crusader and my damage is pretty much nonexistent above GR115. I can survive easily enough just face tanking everything, but the damage just isnt there to clear in time.
I dont have much room for improvement at all, so thats a bit dissapointing.

back in the day, somebody did an 130 with akkhan and that’s before Aughild and Captain Crimson Buffs. It and firebird where the first builds to cross 130 i believe.
That being said, it is due for a buff but it will probably only get something along 3000-4000 due to the sheer synergy it has with all the other items.
It’s pretty safe to buff it up to 6k without a problem, condemn is strong with the cc and aughild combo, but not too much, if it did 130-131 before then possibly 134-135 now.
6k nets around a x4 buff which would put it at 145ish at the very top.
Blessed shield though is slightly behind condemn so besides buffing the set, that one would need additional power.
Other than that, there’s not much else it’s good for besides maybe phalanx.
Going from 1200%->6000% is a 5x buff. Keep in mind that a 4x buff is a 10 GR increase. So it would be 140-141, which would bring it up, but then you’d need to buff Hammers, Rolands, and Invokers as well (Not to mention potentially buffing all the LoD sets)
