About that set dungeon requirement

Firstly, thank you for removing the Master Set Dungeon requirement from Champion.

However, there is still the Complete Set Dungeon objective in Slayer. I don’t know about other players but I will usually Master the set dungeon in the first try most seasons (it’s not hard to stuff up Vyrs or Nats). So if I still need to venture into a set dungeon, chances are, I’ll master it.

Could we please have the Complete a Set Dungeon requirement removed/replaced as well?

I suggest something along the lines of “obtain 10 legendary gems” which would align well with the player refocusing to running rifts and GRs immediately after completing their haedrig’s gift set.

EDIT: Alternatively, give a valuable reward for completing the set dungeon… say a ramaladni’s gift.

Having to gear up differently and doing a set dungeon feels unrewarding as it requires us to go out of our way just to jump through a hoop and doesn’t contribute to our overall objective of gearing up a well made build. But if we got a guaranteed Ramaladni’s for completing the set dungeon… that would contribute to our overall gearing progression.

EDIT 2: OK, after reading various threads on the matter, I suggest the following changes:

  1. Replace the complete set dungeon season journey objective to “obtain 10 legendary gems”
  2. Replace the master set dungeon season journey object to the EN one implemented by the devs.
  3. For every new set dungeon mastered in a season, reward with a ramaladni’s gift. So that’s 28 that one can obtain if they completed all set dungeons in a season… I know I’d probably still do a set dungeon for a single guaranteed gift and set dungeons won’t be made redundant.

I suggest to replace it with “Master a Set Dungeon”. The set dungeon is a fun part of the journey and should be kept by all means,

This is subjective… and it seems the bulk of the community don’t find them fun.

For me, it breaks the flow of what one is trying to do at that point of the game (gear up your build to push or farm) and adds nothing to the overall progress of this objective which makes it an unrewarding experience.

I made two suggestions… either remove the two requirements with something else that fits in with the flow, or grant something rewarding such as Ramaladni’s gifts which does contribute to the gearing journey.

Added a second edit to my original post with what should hopefully keep as many players happy as possible.

I think removing the set dungeon from the season journey makes sense. However, having it as part of your gearing up can also make sense.

Rather than just giving a ramaladni’s gift. Guarantee that 1-2 items in that particular set will drop, with a higher chance than normal for them to be ancient.

Or, drop a set item material (unique to each set) that can be used to reroll an item in that set instead of the normal materials in Kanai’s cube (a new page perhaps specifically for rolling set items).

Something that people might want to go back for again and again and again, in order to improve the gear that they have, so that the materials they otherwise gather can be used on their ‘non-set’ items.

The point of removing it is that it’s not easy for everyone to master it in solo. But it’s apparently easy enough for everyone to clear it.

Then add a dungeon of every set. I find it highly annoying I have to collect a set I’m no fan of and learn to play it because there’s no dungeon for Savages. There’s more sets without a dungeon, but I mainly play a barb and I don’t know which those are.

Yeah, like learning to play Immortal King set for its dungeon is super hard.

It’s not about hard, it’s about the fact you like to play a set for which there is no dungeon. How is that for lazy, indifferent game design? ‘Yeah, lets make a new set!’ … ‘But it needs a dungeon’… ‘oh, sod that, the fanboys will find a reason to defend us!’

Yeah, I rather spend 5 mins playing a set I don’t particularly want to play rather than have had resources wasted on yet more set dungeons I don’t care about. Understanding the logic behind a decision is not the same as defending it.

Not to mention every class has got one super easy set dungeon.

Ideally, having the requirements go is the best outcome but it’s a passable requirement at the end of the day that one will achieve by just playing the game, collecting all class sets and doing the dungeon when the set you’re after is complete.

Fun is subjective. I don’t find it fun at all.

I find it way more fun than remaking game a hundred times to search for the Cursed Peat event you need to kill 350 mobs for that season conquest when we get another bad conquest set.
And then having to ask for help because you have a build that is bad at it. And before you ask “make a different build or level an alt demon hunter” - how is that different from slipping on a different set for the set dungeon?

I don’t find it fun at all.

Usually I’m the person carrying on the Curses conquest :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh, just checked on the conquests:

Easy - Avarice - Complete a 50,000,000 gold streak while outside of The Vault and The Inner Sanctum.

Easy - The Thrill - Reach Greater Rift 45 Solo without any Set items equipped.

Impossible (unless you are TinneOnMuin) - Sprinter - Complete Acts I through V at level 70 in under 1 hour on any difficulty

Tedious (have to level an alt) - Years of War - Reach Greater Rift 55 Solo while using the full bonus from six of the following Class Sets.

And here it comes - Masters of the Universe - Master 8 Set Dungeons, every class has 4 set dungeons based off their original 4 Class Set’s.

This is still easier than doing 8 set dungeons… For starters, it’s 2 less sets one needs to farm up. And you still need to level an alt to do 8 set dungeons.

Sure. Just like how they remove set dungeon mastery from the journey and the reintroduce it eightfold through the conquest.

Over the years I have mainly seen people giving up on getting the extra stash tabs because of the set dungeon (mastery). Now that that hurdle is passed, we may see complaints about the two conquests needed to be done in order to get the tabs… or the three in order to get the guardian rewards?

Now that I really don’t understand. There are a number of set dungeons that are entirely trivial.
