About D2 Remaster - No UNoptional changes(except bug fixes)

Is not that D2 is a perfecta game, 100% perfect, and nothing could improve it. Sure, i would love to see ENERGY being more useful, less one point wonder skills, newer skills, diminishing returns from +skill level affix, etc but IMO a very small change will lead to a chain reaction of changes and it will ruin D2.

IMO except by fixing bugs like for eg, the casting speed on vampire lord form(necromancer set - video bellow), nothing should be changed, my fear is that even a small increase on stash space can lead to a chain reaction of changes

D2 is locked to 24 frames, a modern game doesn’t have the same limitation, so make the necro vampire having the same casting speed as a necro human would be easier in a D2 remake.

If all changes are optional, for example a “semi hardcore” mode where your char lost all gear upon death BUT you can maintain your char is fine, since those who doesn’t like, can just don’t play this optional mode. The normal and hardcore will exist. If it will split more the community, is another discussion.

Beamdog when enhanced the Baldur’s Gate, just changed a little the UI, added some companions and classes. You can not play as a “dragon disciple” if you wanna a more pure experience and not recruit the beamdog companions. They din’t tried to modernize the game, din’t tried to re balance the game and this is the right approach IMO. Other example is Dark Souls Remaster. They changed very little.

You really have a grudge against D2 lol. I see you posting in every D2 related thread. Pro-tip: just ignore the threads.

Yes, because talk to a completely unrelated franchise and talk about the previous iteration of a franchise is the same thing…

Except it is still a Diablo game and who is it bothering aside from you? Obviously, most people use this part of the forums to discuss general Diablo news/ideas as a whole.

I don’t see how ignoring a thread about a previous game in the franchise is so hard. LOL.

Is NEAR BLIZZCON. People are talking about D4 and D2 remaster all over the place here

Theres a forum called the D2 Forum where you can have your D2 Discussions , thats all im saying

D2 discussion, not hypothetical D2 remaster discussion.

Same with classic wow, was mostly discussed in wow page and i particularly don’t like wow…

Few, if any, are going to be using the other D2 forum to discuss D2; most are going to flock here mainly because very few know that other forum exists.

About D2 Remaster - No UNoptional changes

i agree;
i will use any improvements though :clap:

Leave it as it is - with a major graphical & combat upgrade of course - and just give it offline mode, which automatically opens it up to MODDING.

The people can fix everything else.

modding can also be implemented online;
-that way the mods can be approved yes/no

Yeah, those changes are better leave for a Remake. Also, do you like D2 Remaster to have a QoL changes like stash sharing, vacuum gold pick up or D2 Remaster should just be D2 with HD graphic?

If Blizzard allow private servers like other games allow and keep it separed, modding can come to online too. Note that path of diablo and other games runes in different servers, IMO it should occour in a “official” way.

That is something that i honestly don’t have a solid opinion. I mean, i would love to see loot filter, and stash sharing/increased stash space, but as i’ve said, i fear that it can lead to a chain reaction of changes.

For eg, if players can store more items, it will obvious impact on trading.

As i’ve mentioned before in other threads, (check out my comment history) Keyblade has actually never played D2, he’s literally never even installed it. He confirmed this in clan chat. He has an unhealthy rage inducing hatred for something he has never played, hence the perpetuating condescending tone on anyone who likes D2.

Ontopic - I think i would actually be interested in actiblizz again if they did a d2 remaster. Graphic update on one of the best games ever made!

Is this really true?

Sounds like you wanna ply Median-XL.

Yes, no changes to the ladder game except a few bug/glitch fixes. On single player I’d like to be able to do Ubers and DClone without using the current hacks. Other than that I don’t want the game changed, especially no QoL additions.

What I would like after the remaster is a new expansion with a new act; a new character class; new crafting recipes specifically for superior gloves, boots and belts; new rune words, new uniques (including charms), new sets, including a throw set without a shield, ring sets and sets that include charms and jewels. I’d also like the dclone and the panda event to return to this expansion but I want the anni and torches bound to the account that has the character that first picked it up or landed the hit that made the kill.

Blizzard should have done this instead of making their mobile game happening between the time of D2 LoD and D3. The D:I game and story sould be a side shoot of D3 set in Chinese like dynasty. But, honestly, Blizzard isn’t Blizzard North and I don’t expect them to ever get Diablo right. Not unless they bring the Diablo founders back to manage the next project.

Play more PvP, you may like energy stat on caster classes if not love it.
Appears there’s a bug about energy stat reallocation when you reset the stats but it shouldn’t bother you on a PvP build. Well… Unless you’re an EShield Sorc.

Where’s the punishment then? If you want a “semi hardcore mode” ask Blizzard to activate PTR for Diablo 2 from time to time.

Most likely won’t, but why would you want that?
