A Quick Word from Blizzard

i said now (as in this month) and d3 release, other than that, they’re wank at communicating. And as someone rightly said above, how many of those 50 odd posts actually contain any substance that the majority actually care and want to hear about?

How close to BlizzCon2019 should we expect an update? Was it a month before last time?

It was August last year when they got the hype train rolling with THE FORGES ARE BURNING HOT!!! and MULTIPLE PROJECTS!!!, so if they actually have something of interest this year, it could be any time now. Nev did say she has been busy getting ready for Blizzcon, but she has to do that every year, so that means nothing.
If they actually have something big, you would figure they would have gotten the ball rolling by now. Most likely, they have pitifully little or nothing at all and will keep a low profile until Blizzcon to avoid getting a beat down 2 years in a row.

Blizzcon has long been pushed as being an event for the fans, but after last year I question if thats even true anymore. Immortal isn’t for the fans. Its for China and investors, that much is clear.

And if what Allen Adham said is true, that they have a suite of mobile phone games they’re working on for their IP’s, then they’re going to announce them at Blizzcon too.

So which one will it be this year I wonder. Will WoW get its phone game announcement this year? Overwatch? Will the reaction to Immortal have changed things? Its going to be interesting to see how this will play out.

Lol yeah, Nev has to get ready for BlizzCon. I wonder if the mysterious Blog-Posts she couldn’t finish in time for last years Blizzcon are finished by now
Probably needs to prepare the next community meltdown when they show another mobile game noone wants, since they never learn from feedback anyway…

Blizzard is listening to us and Activision is covering her mouth with her hand.

Never forget that it is NetEase, and not Blizzard, that is making mobile games. There’s much more that could be said, but I leave it at this. It’s not even them. They’re just supervising a field they have no experience in.

A word so quick, we all seemed to have missed it.

Zzzz… is it BlizzCon yet? It’d truly be a spectacle of failure if they really had NOTHING to say till next BlizzCon… maybe the forges weren’t so hot after all eh? :smirk:

They will anounce D4 and more stuff to show how they “hear” their players, but I have 0 faith in Blizzard. They can release all the games they want I will buy 0

And what happens if Blizzard just happens do everything correctly, and it becomes the new platinum standard of ARPGs?

Never say Never…

This would be realistically possible only if Blizzard splits from Activision.

For Blizzard to be the “platinum standard” under Activision, Bobby Kotick and the greedy investors must actually care for the consumers and offer value for money for their games.

They would have to completely let go of the predatory monetization practices (loot boxes, pay-to-win etc) that has been poisoning games in recent years.

They would actually have to contemplate the long forgotten art of making quality games instead of trying sneaky ways to bleed gamers’ wallets dry without a second thought.

Does that sound like something they would even think about, let alone do?

So true.
The Code of Conduct is that open book able to ban anyone the system here does not care for.

Yeah, it basically says “If anyone could potentially be offended by something, you can be banned for it.” It doesn’t matter if someone IS offended…so that this is a completely meaningless rule that allows banning of every post, since someone COULD be offended by the mere fact “an answer” even exists… oh well, can’t have people engaging on equal terms…

Phew - what a read…
I suppose anyone could say that some people hear what they want to hear, but that is pointless.

Does anyone not know what “Classic Game Status” is??

Just in case, Diablo III has been relegated to this status.
So new sets, new items, new affixes and more things that are new additions are considered as NOT being obligatory. ‘Classic Game Status’ means that their only obligation is to do bug fixes and random patches whenever they feel like it.
Not because anyone wants it or for that matter demands it.

I know some people are grateful that they are doing changes as am I, but to complain about something where they have no obligation do do jack sh!t might be bordering on …
(Add any word indicating lack of the big picture)

That’s not the point. The point is, they said after last BlizzCons fallout that they are “fully comitted to engage”, and that “the forges are burning hot”, and that “We hear you”…
And then, feedback came. And came. And came. That was almost a year ago by now, and no answer whatsover, not the slightest hint that the feedback even gets acknowledged.
And that makes them liars.
