Funny that you have two topics with appeals to Blizzard for changes while only playing one seasonal hero - a support barb with 4.6K paragons… and 9K non season.
Or a Cube slot for mini set powers. Like Norvald’s, Captain Crimson, Danetta’s, Guardian’s, Endless Walk, etc… But i guess that would be better for a sesonal theme, than permanent.

Don’t forget that apart from the specific season theme all the other changes in each new patch are also applied to non season (for better or worse) so non season isn’t static. Not saying that there isn’t room for over all improvement to the game.
To me all season is a test area for Blizzard. They use us to test things in real time. Plus the PTR is just Pri Test before the big Test. Then they decide if they will move something over to non season. They decide if it will be permanent not US!!! Plus even how much you like it too.
Permanent changes to main game may narrow down the space that they may have for experimenting on seasonal themes. Don’t assume they have infinite resources. At least not after the permanent changes to Followers, now that they hold more items than they used to.
“But what about this season theme? Ain’t there too many powers already?”. That’s what I’m talking about. Do the math. How many potential Sanctified powers we have now? With each class having three each, we have 21; just like three Ethereals for each class at S24, right after Follower changes with S23. Soul Shards and Ethereals were just additions to loot table with a total of 21-24 unique variables which got deleted in a whim upon passing to non-seasonal.
Unlike those previous additions, Kanai’s power slots are pure activated flags embed into the character data. Now ask, how many possibilities and variables a fourth Kanai’s Cube would add to the scene? Many indeed but we have no idea how this would impact the technical side of things when they want to play around different variables later on.
If there are only 3 legendary powers available to each class right now with the current seasonal theme, it may be 2 legendary powers per class at the next season if you allow Kanai’s fourth slot to be permanent.
They were manage to go wild with those previous seasonal themes because they had space to experiment on it. You’re asking them to limit the potential space at the upcoming seasonal themes willfully and still manage the server performance. I don’t think this would apply; you may not have the cake and eat it at the same time.
I’m saying, it might limit their creativity at the oncoming seasons when one more activated flag is a permanent part of the character data for every character that is ever created. We’re talking about hundred thousands of active players.
Let along game was made for 3 legendary slots in mind, so a fourth one is mere power creep. Would they let you leap forward 500+ plvl by a mere legendary power in non-season while everyone else worked their way up to tens of thousands? This wouldn’t feel fair, regardless of whatever excuse you may come up with.
Additionally, there are problems in power surge and promoting the use of a class. With some drawback some builds would just stand down and won’t be promoted as they lack burst and has to cater to damage over time or inflicting area damage procs to very dense crowds. That’s actually a good thing, as their use could hog the traffic and not performance friendly for the server to sustain it for long if hundred thousands of players were to use that spec at the same time. You have no idea how dynamics would change on class balance if 4th Kanai’s Cube were to be permanent as well. Perhaps some build will shine over others and they don’t want that as it’s not a performance friendly build.
In short; there’s no boneless chicken fries in non-season, it only apply to seasonal for testing ground as it’s a side dish with seasoning. Get it? No? Okay, that roughly translating into there’d always be a catch in non-season when picking the right power; even huge power spikes offered always arrive with one.
Fourth Kanai’s cube you loved had no restriction, no catch, no limit; this is why it was so good. Look at the current seasonal theme, it’s limited to 21 different powers. I think this tells a small story of limited resources and they doing only so much to test the build performances.
The real reason for the “tests” is because they care about having a large and active playerbase - which there wouldn’t be if there weren’t seasons. And the biggest reason for things carrying over is that they are then available, and beneficial, for the players in the following seasons.
Just make 4th slot available as it is: anything can be put in it.

The funny part is the larger player base is basically new people. I have a habit of looking at peoples profile when playing. Most of the people 75% with less then maybe 1yr to a 1-1/2yr playing. Plus I went back and look at all the season to see how much stuff was carry over. You would really be surprise to see how much of it was carry over and how little wasn’t.
I’m going back to suggestion I had several seasons back…
Let class specific items be cross class applicable through the cube in a fourth slot.
For instance, Mask of Jeram would be available to all classes. Krysbin’s would also. Mighty Weapons like the one that makes primary skills faster and do more damage, and so on and so on.
Now that would be a cool season, if you ask me.

Ideas are ideas good and bad need vetting. A 4th cube slot isnt a bad idea. It was a good league theme and we are in D3s EOL cycle with D4 edging closer… might as well have some fun.
We already have 4th cube slot. Sort of. It’s called emanating powers.
The 4th slot slot as it was as a theme added nothing meaningful. No added diversity or depth. All people did with it was adding an extra damage multiplier. That’s nothing but power creep.

The truth is there are no such thing as new builds. I mean allowing one skill to be changed in a basic build doesn’t make it a new build. It’s the same frickin’ build with a slightly different trick.
You missed the point. OP makes threads about how changes could/would be nice and interesting to have - while at the same only grinding with a single support character in a season with lots of new possibilities for most classes and a lot of builds.

I never said his ideas were bad. I’m all for power creep and I truly enjoyed S24 and 25 and the other powerful themes we’ve had as well as most of the overpowered builds we’ve had (that were later nerfed, sadly).
It’s still funny coming from a person “only” playing one build in a season with such great diversity.

Did look at his profile. He has a total of 2.4 mil on life time kills. But he is at over 9000 on paragon on the Non season and at 4.6 on seasons. How do you get that much paragon with only 2.4 mil on life time kills??? OH wait do have to point it out to you on what he is doing???

Not really uncommon, considering I’m a DH main that decided to switch to Crusader this season and the class turned out so bad this season that I just quit and went back to non season.
Because it was either that or play Shadow GoD and if I’m going to play a GoD like build, then I’ll go to non-season where I already have all my paragon. Got too far behind in paragon trying to make a go of the Crusader to make up for it with another class.
