50 YEARS FROM THE EVENTS IN ROS TO THE RETURN OF LILITH
Need more detail when Inarius and Lilith create the Sanctuary. like “HOWWWW?”
So half a centuary not a decade. This info is juicy!
They did it via the Worldstone. The Worldstone had immense power that even allowed one to alter reality and/or create worlds, if they so desired to. Sanctuary wasn’t the first world created, as both Heaven and Hell had created a number of worlds whenever they had possession of the Worldstone. However, most of these worlds fell to ruin.
Inarius, Lilith, and their fellow angelic and demonic renegades (their followers), had stolen the Worldstone, and after fleeing with it to a different dimension (or a pocket dimension) and used it to create a great shell around the Worldstone (Mount Arreat would be the first part of Sanctuary to be created as it operated as a shell for the worldstone. After Arreat, the rest of Sanctuary was created). This shell or world would be known as Sanctuary, and the Worldstone’s power would be used again in order to hide the world so that Heaven and Hell wouldn’t be able to find it.
Inarius would then bind the worldstone’s powers to himself (without the knowledge of his fellow renegades) which augmented his strength exponentially. He did this to ensure no one would, or could, challenge him and to be able rule Sanctuary.
When they first announced D4, they had stated “Decades”, which is more than 10 years, but less than a century (so about 20-90 years). But I do agree that this is good info to have, since there have apparently been different infos given about the timeline. For example, someone at Blizzard had apparently said 40 years, meanwhile the book of lorath apparently states it to be 30 years. So either we have a new confirmation that allows us to disregard the previous two, or this is another error on Blizzard’s part and we won’t know until the game actually comes out. Honestly, I hope it’s the former.
I know i was just saying. At least 50 is official now heh xD
That’s alot of bats.
I always thought it’s just another 20 years passed.
I believe that may have been due to the Diablofans site, since at the time D4 was unveiled at 2019 BlizzCon, they (Diablofans) had stated it was twenty years after the events of D3 RoS. However, since I couldn’t find Blizzard themselves saying it was twenty years, as at that time, they only said “decades”, I went with decades as opposed to twenty years.
They should make 100 years to soft reboot, so they have a good excuse for why the almighty D3 Nephalem doesn’t appear in D4 unless they decide to use the grandfather and grandmother version of D3 Nephalem to help D4 Heroes.
I really don’t want to see the silly corruption plots like D3 Nephalems are now evil and please kill them all!
Funnily enough, the wizard actually mentioned studying magic in order to live longer. That said, I certainly would like to know what happened to the Nephalem.
Agreed.
Well… D4 new story content being every 3 months i’m pretty sure it won’t take long (was extremely happy at that bonerfied information).
What content goes to non season then as seasons suck.
Another way of looking at it is that the new season will have stories and questlines that are centered around the theme of the season, and while it would add to the lore, it wouldn’t expand the game’s overall campaign story.
For example, if the seasonal theme was about us meeting a rogue angel and assisting them in capturing and/or vanquishing powerful named demons, then the new story and questlines would be about us helping the angel and learning more about the situation that caused the season theme (along with the season’s mechanics) as well as how our actions would influence the outcome. However, it wouldn’t (assumingly anyway) have an effect on the game’s current campaign (in terms of story), as you could take part in it at any time regardless of where your progression is at in regards to the game’s campaign.
So long story short, the seasonal additions will expand on the game’s overall lore, but not it’s campaign story, as that’ll be done by expansions. So wherever the Diablo 4 base game’s campaign ends at, there won’t be any significant continuations until the expansions.
So none of the new story/quests will go to non season? So we have to start new characters every time we want to check out this temporary stuff? So i’ll only get Xpacs, great. Good job i’m a boring old fart.
The new seasonal story and quests, as well as items will go to non-season (thus becoming permanent to the game), only when the season had ended. However, it’ll be the new seasonal mechanics that won’t be added to non-season nor the game when the season ends.
Oh that’s fine then. I don’t want the easier mechanics.
