9/16/2021 Edit: Loot Systems Updates/Clarification

No I think it’s safe to assume he just made it up, as people with 1-3k hours in the game would have no need for ploot.

Yes, i do.
Many had more.
I doubt some of the 10k votes, but the 1-3k votes are easy. It’s been 20 years.

Yeah, right.
We just magically summoned up an army of ploot supporters of 3000 people up that also voted for everything reasonable on the survey, entered comments, voted different on every point and even though the survey was posted here, on redit, on youtube, on twitter on twitch on discord and whatnot, still there was only a handful of the “real d2 crowd” to make legitimate votes? Including the entire followship of one of the biggest d2 streamers?

You are so far down in denial mode, it is beyond anything imaginable.

Imagine reddit credibility when even Chris Wilson tells: “Get rolled reddit”.

Trying to use Reddit Karma on Blizzard forum I think.

Its funny because the thing that changed my mind recently about ploot isn’t any of the arguments floating around, but because of reading all the irrational “arguments” from the purists. As long as loot drop chances aren’t touched, it really won’t change much. People still won’t find jack in public games and will need to privately MF as always. The arguments seem to always devolve into conspiracy-level nonsense and insults. :man_shrugging:

Show us these people, can’t you just head over to Reddit and ask them to go to Twitter and respond? Because right now, it’s really not looking good for the ploot advocate(s).

who the hell captured this troll and made a sensible post using his account >.>

who the heck are you and what did u do with jani…
keep him locked up wherever you have him…

I believe many of the 10k playtime people are the “vets” and “purists” you all claim to be.

But it will, you know why? because people think personal loot is their key to swimming in HR’s after only an hour of play. Just like Diablo III and countless other games that went ploot, as soon as you get your ploot, within a week, you will demand higher loot drop increases, then when you get that, you will demand something else and Blizzard will get so fed up they will just bind all the items from then on. We see it time and time again.

Well in nutshell: Look look reddit survey majority wants ploot. Twitter: Majority anti ploot----->JSP JSP JSP  Funny how they try to twist everything in favor of ploot.

Arg, so it started as 1-3k hours and now has shot up to 10k, okay good.

They’ve heard you progressives loud and clear. No need to make more threads on Ploot. Christ forgive you.

But then they’re going to scream to adjust drop rates.

Just look at the survey. It is really hard to talk to people who have no idea what they are talking about.

I linked it. It is not hard. We are in 2021. “Do your own research”. I bet you like that line.

I have had it with you now.

I have told you yesterday in great patience and detail that we do not want increased loot chance.
That we do not want d3 ploot.
And you still simply ignore it. If you are unable to have a conversation, then you exclude yourself from it.

Also there is no precedence of what you describe as “time and time again”.

Enjoy your time on the troll bench with the other logic-illiterates.

Literally not even trying to start a fight but I have one question, when was the last time you did a full mf run with 8 people in the game? Or did a Baal run with 8 people that don’t have pickit or a bot? With the drop rates in Diablo, even at p8 you have a very low chance of seeing a GOOD unique to drop even from Baal. I play plugy with p8 and do 25 Baal runs and the only thing that drops will be a shaco or rares. With that being said, you really think people aren’t going to start crying because they’re not seeing any uniques drop? Or all they’re getting is rare items with trash stats? Personally I would rather see the uniques drop and even if I didn’t get it, at least I know I had the chance. Just my 2 cents, not even trying to start a fight.

Why don’t you just go and get those people? Because on Twitter right now, it is 99% in favor of keeping it shared loot and only 1% casuals who want ploot, really, your side is losing heavily over there.

And spam : But but but make it a toggle.

what I don’t get is, you have options if you really want personal loot. you can play d3, you can play other ARPGs.

why is there such a must that a remastered 20 year old game be made to more resemble newer games?

there is value in these differences between games, no one game is for everyone.

Exactly! Thank you, you understand it. They want ploot because they think it is their ticket to HR’s and top uniques, when they don’t get it, they will demand loot rate increases, and after that, they will keep on demanding into D2R is destroyed.

I’ve played D2 since the original launched. I never minded the loot system too much until 1.10. I had annoyances, sure, but loot felt more widely funneled back before then, where mid tier items were useful even at high level play. Not godly, but useful. After 1.10, when loot was funneled mainly towards casters and runes, and class balance suffered, suddenly, less of that loot that was dropping was viable.

Then when they added the ubers, I felt the shared loot strayed more and more away from actually sharing. Removing cows as xp grind and stuffing everyone in Baal for the main group xp runs hurt for “sharing” loot, but the whole uber tristram quest to me reeked of “mostly a solo event”

I care more about balance changes myself than personal loot. While I support the allocation method that Micro advocates for, I’m not the greatest fan of it and would rather just go instanced loot, as long as they can get the drop rates right and keep trade for the economy buffs.
