Also, the question uses the “1 respec per ladder reset” as an example of how to make it easier. Maybe they just want unlimited respecs without farming. That sure would be easier.

Your only argument has been your assumption that the people who want a certain change didn’t play the game. Or, in other words, you don’t HAVE an argument.

that’s what scares me. people asking for things that they don’t understand. (of course not all people is this way, but as far as i saw even in that survey, they have numbers)

It does not make the game easier. Total drops are constant in multiplayer games with FFA and personal loot. In personal loot, you only see 1/8 of all drops in an 8 player game and unlike FFA loot you can not target class-specific drops as is the case in FFA games that would have been assigned to other players in a personal loot game. This makes personal loot games actually harder.
While I strongly disagree with these people, you cant know that. Maybe they did.

They certainly might. Which goes against a lot of claims about “purists” being the majority.

I played thousands of hours of D2/D2:LoD. I bought the collector’s edition of D2 the morning of release. I have level 90 and 80 expansion characters this ladder season.

I made no such argument, though. I only pointed out that one based on the assumption that they didn’t play the game is faulty because it comes from the premise of “the only way to play the game is the way I play it.”

Well I do not play casually and I agree that adding optional personal loot would be beneficial where the game is both preserved and modernized.
dude if you know the game and played and see the proposals you will agree on most that makes the game easier.
for example asking to remove immunities or unsocketing, or increasing drops.
Easier than the nearly 50% of his respondents that admitted to using D2 maphacks or the 20% who admitted botting in D2. Cheating makes the game easier.
I completely agree that it would make the game easier. And are strongly against those ideas.
Doesn’t change that some of those people in that poll might want to make the game easier, even though they have played D2. Maybe even a bunch.
