64bit client: 50-70fps; 32bit client: 130-200fps

I installed D3 yesterday after a long time (last time I played was season 10) and the performance was quite terrible, not getting more than 70fps in light areas, with dips as low as 47fps (!) in Westmarch. Graphics settings do not seem to affect FPS much, maybe plus/minus 3fps or so.

Of course I remember it being smooth as butter years ago in my good old RX 470 and 4790k (nowadays Ryzen 3600, but same GPU) and after a lot of trial and error I discovered the 32bit client option… I enabled it and the performance is great again, never below 100fps and most often close to 200fps.

Windows installation is clean (very recent), Radeon drivers are up to date… Any potential solution? I understand the 64bit version should perform better regarding random stuttering, so I’d like to use it, but with that kind of performance it’s not an option.

Same issue here. 64 bit client is significantly lower performance than 32bit.

Just in case anyone finds this and uses Linux: I lost a hardcore character in the UMPTEENTH crash to desktop and uninstalled the game, fed up with its bugs. But I decided to give it one last opportunity in Linux under Wine (well, Lutris)… and the 64 bit version works AWESOMELY there. Almost constant 144 fps (vsynced), way better visuals (thanks to the new antialias) and absolutely no stuttering/CTD/slow inventory loading/etc. that plagues the 32 bit version.
