The 4th open cube slot is a really good game development idea.
Diversity to all classes for numerous build options.
This could actually be the best idea implemented to retain player base and encourage participation in season play .
It just needs to be incorporated for all game modes, non-season as well, to offer the numerous options to all players to expand the build diversity across all classes, all sets and non-sets, to retain players and offer many more character play options…
It is a fun idea, but I’m fine with it existing only as a seasonal thing.
Need to wait for one more step before asking for it to be permanent.
4 cube slots with no restrictions.
That will probably arrive in a future season.
I like the 4th slots, I hope this become perm!
I’m normally against powercreep but everything that gives more possibilities is good, could even add free RORG too, imo.
Yes!
Thank you, Blackarrows. Glad you posted this. I agree–the 4th Cube slot is a simple, fantastic addition that should roll over to non-Season when the current Season is concluded. For many builds, it won’t make a massive difference, but it will offer some fun new options for players who have been dogging it in NS for years.
Micro alt detected!!
Keep in mind the clones are also super strong, so the higher S22 clears can’t be attributed solely to the 4th cube spot.
Also the game was designed with no cube originally, so there’s that.
For high GRs (>120), the relative power of the clones diminsh rapidly.
True. That is why I referenced game design when/after the cube was introduced in my post.
Be aware that you’re dealing with an alt of a known troll. Trying to have a reasonable conversation is going to be like pulling teeth from a mouth that has no teeth.
you shouldn’t need an additional cube slot for diversity of character builds. by now as many sets are out there you should be able to build a build you want to build and it do well. however that is not the case as described in my screw you post.
Like pulling rooster teeth, eh?
4th slot should be a permanent for every case. Only GR needs a limit: 4th slot works till GR115 solo/group/public.
With the rare exception of season 17, whose popularity had brought us the LoD gem; seasonal themes don’t often make a permanent addition into the game upon the season’s end. However if the 4th slot was to be a permanent feature in the game, then I wouldn’t be against it, as that would be nice for players to have, especially non-seasonal players who don’t want play season and rarely have the chance to enjoy events or such.
Kinda, except with 3 alts and a metric crap ton of spreadsheets.
Make it permanent for wizard’s alone, power change close to zero.
I would also like to see this become permanent, but with one provision: That the builds which do not benefit from this as much as others receive items to close that gap.
The game already suffers from “carbon copy” syndrome as it is; we need more options, not less.
Seasonal Themes: unlock them for non-seasonal use by completing the entire seasonal journey. Unlock a seasonal theme and have it available for use in non-seasonal play forever!
Yeah, I know, not going to happen, but it would be nice. As for what that would do to the non-seasonal ladder…who still gives a **** about them, and what is wrong with those people?
Can’t agree. While the impact of season themes being present on nonseason leaderboards would be wholly immaterial (due to rampant, unchecked cheating, hacked gear, etc), it would give new incentive for players to complete the journey and hard-out to nonseason.
There are already players who only participate for long enough to get all the unlocks and then quit. Make that change and seasonal would be a ghost town.
Good info, thanks.
Fair enough. My point was that the game evolves, so further evolution isn’t necessarily bad. I too don’t care for power creep for the sake of power creep since it has historically been done unevenly, limiting diversity. The 4th cube slot seems like it would enable more fun builds, so I’m thinking the power creep to some builds may be worth it at this point in an 8 year old game that already has a sequel in active public development.
Considering additional patches are already planned to bring better balance, if the devs wanted to enhance the cube for all game modes, this could be taken into account for what they need to do to to balance. As someone else said, maybe some builds with limited benefit could gain extra items.
That said I agree the chances of this becoming permanent are slim.
