3000016 on "retrieving character list"

What do i do with that constant sh.t popping up on “retrieving character list”?

Europe, fresh installation, no problems playing other blizzard games, winmtr always looks like following (zero loses).

America’s fine btw.

WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider

i have the same problem Eu server

It started working again

I did two things:

  • I made a request to support with all that traces, dxdiag’s log and other stuff (connection issue)
  • I restarted my AV software

Not sure if any of that really helped or just coincidence

Still randomly fails on “retrieving hero list” with 3000016 and some other errors. No matter AV is started or not.

Looks like crap. Hey, blizzard! What’s up?

As you hid the IP address / domain name, no idea who this node belongs to, but a peak worst response of almost 4 seconds is definitely going to be causing drop-outs. As you say it’s now fixed, if you run another WinMTR does that hop’s response times look better now?

I hid it cause otherwise my message was blocked by the forum with error like “you can’t include links in your post”. And btw the trace did show that there were no packet losses pinging host in like 10 minutes.

Currently i can observe the same trace with lagging host ae1-br02-eqam1[.]as57976[.]net. It’s event worse so that there are 2-3% packet loss currently. But I can still able to log in without any problems. (And btw it’s eu[.]logon[.]worldofwarcraft[.]com. I wish I had a diablo server host name to trace to).

So I believe it wasn’t connection issue in my case. It rather looked like some problems with accounts that hadn’t been used for some long time. In my case it’s about two years. I tried both my accounts and had the issue until I first time logged in.

I’m having this issue too, just installed Diablo 3 again after like 2 years, and get this error. I’m on EU server btw.

I see no way of solving this by myself so moving on to some other game. Disappointed.

When posting a trace, you can select the text in the trace (all of it) and click the </> button in the editor window and it will format it such that it allows you to post it. You can do the same with internet links. It just makes them text instead of clickable when you do it this way.
