2.7.4 Tal Rasha changes are plain laughable

They’re trying to steer us into using Meteor again but they’ve conveniently forgotten that they killed the set when they ruined Etched Sigil.

Energy Twister STILL sucks.

LoD ET is an S-Tier build according to Maxroll. But what do they know, they only play the game way more than 99% of us. And it appears the casting of free Meteors will be far faster with the new Tal Rasha’s set than was ever possible with Etched Sigil which was limited to once a second. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised to see someone trying a combo with the TR belt/amulet making it easy to add to other sets. Why so much hate before we’ve even seen it tested in the PTR? Can we at least wait until Wednesday before we eviscerate everything about S27.

Welll the patch doesn’t list a cool down does it? Max primary AS and alternate fire and arcane. So how high can you get primary skill AS? Alternate as fast as possible and make it rain.

Just checked. It actually says damaging and enemy with a given element. So how will magic weapon, weapon dmg type, skill, and proc affect this? It’s possible to have arcane weapon dmg, electrical magic weapon, fire skill, cold proc (armor, item proc, etc) as a general example and be damaging with all element types at once.

We know for a fact Storm Armor procs a lightning meteor. And I assume Ice Armor - Jagged Edges procs a Comet as well. It’s about direct elemental damage. If D2’s Enchant was in D3, it would proc a fire meteor.

The only direct damage for Magic Weapon I can think of is the lightning jab from Electrify rune. Ignite rune might do the same since it causes fire damage.

Only way to find out = test it. The set exists now, no need to wait for PTR.

Most Maxroll guides are also outdated-af by at least 1-2 years, which means it can’t relied on for anything. And on top of that the dude who runs it is a whiny chumpstain so he can kiss my proverbial for all I care.

He also needs to get a life.

I just hopped on my S26 wizard and tried out Tal Rasha’s.

Primary skill – Electrocute (Chain Lightning) proc’d electric meteor
Secondary skill – Disintegrate (Convergence) proc’d fire meteor
Slotted skill – Energy Twister (Wicked Wind) proc’d arcane meteor
Slotted skill – Blizzard (Snowbound) proc’d ice meteor

So it’s quite easy to get all 4 meteors falling and without the cool down limitation of the current set it could be a serious amount of meteor damage.

I was actually talking to Aloc up there regarding the meteor potential of Magic Weapon’s runes, since only one of them triggers a direct elemental attack and another ignites.

I just tested this the different runes on Magic Weapon casting Magic Missile. They do trigger lightning and fire meteors as you’d expect. And, they’re doubled with the meteor for the base spell (I was using Seeker so arcane). So it seems it will be quite easy to fire a nearly constant stream of doubled meteors once the cool down is removed in the new version.
