I am waiting for the blog.
From patch 2.6.1a being released on 5/29/2018, they have only updated 10 class specific support items for all classes combined, including changes in patch 2.6.6. The “small” list 1 proposal includes buffs to 10 legendary support items. List 2 includes more items and even new affixes on many items. It is highly unlikely in my mind that the classic games team will do this. There is compelling data that shows that barbs on in a bad spot now; however, their historical underachievement in terms of ability to clear solo greater rifts seems inconsistent with what is presented in OP.
Blog won’t change anything because patch is already finalized
Just more PR like they always do
Like many other people I’ve lost all faith in the dev team
Years and years is an unreasonable time frame
This is a game not a decades long business venture
By the time the classes are addressed Diablo 4 will be out and no one will care anymore
Is there any chance at all that a random Barb buff will be added between the PTR and the live patch? I just want some hope
Statistically speaking the chance of this is non-zero.
Realistically speaking, no.
Nope.
We’ll be waiting a while. Again.
At first I wanted to read the blog very much. But we’re less than 3 months from BlizzCon, so we won’t get any juicy news or updates. So what is supposed to be announced in the blog post? The “plans” for Diablo III? What plans could they announce that we don’t already expect? Honest question.
I have a feeling that may be wrong that in the blog, they will lay the groundwork for an announced and official transition to maintenance mode. They certainly wont announce it that way but I suspect that they will indicate less frequent changes. They could announce a "final* balancing effort that when implemented doesnt go far enough.
Which all of us expect right?
D4 rumors are becoming more frequent. D3 is now 7+ years old.
We should all expect “maintenance” mode at this point with minor updates.
The Blog post we’re waiting on is something we actually know it’s going to be…
We’re listening and we hear you. There are some classes that have different play styles that may or may not suit what everyone expects from that class but that’s okay. Sanctuary is filled with different heroes for you to enjoy and we need you to hear that. Do you hear that? Are you listening?
We appreciate the passion of the community and the time they invested into constructive feedback on Barbarians. We liked it a lot and we’re listening and we hear you.
With BlizzCon around the corner and with all this listening and hearing we couldn’t get all of the proposal into this patch. For now, enjoy the latest patch with the new items.
$ee you in $anctuary.
Hahaha well played. I almost lost my coffee.
Nice post Free. But, I think the important thing for everyone to remember here is… you all have phones don’t you?
Yea… let’s not forget.
Currently dunking mine in the toilet.
Free as a barb expert,
Without any support legendaries whatsoever, could you rank the barb class sets and LON sets from best to worst and a relative grifter rift estimate of their differential power?
Let’s just plant and water the grass on the grave.
This has been dug up and reburied so many times the shovel has worn out for most of us. Thanks for the Memories guys it was a great ride…
Set ranks with no supporting Legendary items?
Well every HOTA build is dead without Gavel of the First Men combo. Wastes with no Zodiac, BK Swords, or Skull Grasp? Uhh… salvage. IK straight up with no specific items is a dud since it’s bonus is global and thus low.
The only real build that can be played with limited item support is probably R6/IK4. Maybe LeapQuake too since it’s so tanky. R6 by itself might be 3rd.
I honestly don’t even think the other builds would even rank in 2.6.5+. But maybe I’m too cynical.
It is not about which sets can be played without support legendaries but I’m curious about the inherent differences in barb class sets.
Well R6/IK4 is the easiest to play imo. You charge around. Slam or Toss. Repeat as needed.
LeapQuake is pretty strong and because it is so tanky can be easy to play at lower levels. Definitely requires full itemization and excellent gameplay for pushing though.
R6 by itself plays like R6/IK4, except with R6 you can go HOTA which has the two best individual items in the Barbarian class imo. 3 if you count BoM ring. However R6 HOTA relies on horrible glitchy mechanics à la wall charging.
IK6/R4 is pretty self explanatory. But it requires more fishing than R6/IK4 imo which makes it harder. Keeping your movement speed buffs constantly cycled gets tedious too imo.
Wastes is probably the worst build to play without optimized gear. Because you really do need an additional 7 items. Highly specific stats on the gear. Then the fishing… oh the fishing. The rift density needs to be so high it causes some players to lag still apparently.
I don’t understand the question.
Builds = sets + supporting legendaries.
Without one or the other, you don’t have a build. If you’re wondering how Barb builds rank, check the Top 5 thread in the Barb forum.
I know nothing about Barbs or how to play them, so forgive me for butting in.
MicroRNA didn’t say anything about “Barb builds”. They asked you to rank Barb Sets and LoN Sets from best to worst. It also sounds like they want you to show their relation to Greater Rift Levels.
Sorry @MicroRNA if I didn’t get that exactly correct.
Maybe that’s the answer they’re looking for. But, I think they wanted your opinion on it.
I’ll go back to my Demon Hunter now.
