17/6/2022 UPDATE: DI Made $24M in 2 weeks

17 JUNE 2022 UPDATE

https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2022-06-17-diablo-immortal-amasses-more-than-usd24-million-in-revenue-two-weeks-after-launching

Diablo Immortal gets over $24 million in spending, within 14 days after launch

The US accounted for 43% of the dungeon crawler’s earnings as South Korea was second at 26% in player spending

Thanks to US and SK players for the huge contribution. :sunglasses:

It seems that DI basically earning more than $1.7+ million every day.

All without PC sales included, and Asia. :+1:

For reference:

Call of Duty Mobile First Week revenue is around $17M+ and then reached 1 billion after 19 months.

Won’t say that DI will replicate the CoD Mobile feat 100% but the potential and possibility is there.

There needs to be laws passed protecting consumers from such predatory methods of ‘paying’ to play a game. Casinos have laws they must follow for the very same reason of giving some measure of protection for consumers from the practices that mobile gaming, most of all this game, take full advantage of.

By the time there are regulations DI would have made plenty of money. Its not bad for a mobile game. Also not every country will regulate it so they would be able to keep doing what they are. However i expect ppl to complain about not being able to play DI in their country if it happen

OP you are incorrect Negative Nancy and her sisters have said that it is a total failure.

  • Two weeks in and I am having a good time without spending any money.

So anyone that have criticism to offer is either a hater, a D2 fanboy or a negative “random female”?

That the game makes money is not something anyone disputed!

It’s HOW it makes money that brings on the criticism!

Blizzard clearly has no shame but yet why arent they walking around being proud of it? after all the game is such a success so why arent they out and about praising it

seems to me like not all is as stable with their company as the shills want us to believe

i mean come on Blizzard youve actually managed to unite the players like never before

To the op.

Not surprised tbh, with all the hype it got, even the negative attention it got worked as a hype factor.

Personally I won’t get near it.

My guess is that they are just waiting for the worst of it to pass.

If you didn’t understand I am responding that to a specific person.

Blizzard 101 bury your head in the sand and pretend all is fine they cant seem to understand why they get such criticism the mere thought of it doesnt even seem to register at all

i mean anytime they ask us for feedback and when we dont tell them what they wanna hear they ignore it then they simply turn it around and try to make it appear to be our fault for having fun wrong or something

Well I uninstalled DI over the weekend so not a penny to be seen from me.

Of course the game will make money. I just hope the negative press pushes legislation on mobile games to reign them in.

If it keeps the pace of just north of a million a day, it will still take two years to match the income D3 made in 2012, it released may 15 so in less than 7 months.

That aside I don’t think anyone has argued that Immortal can’t make money, the issue is its predatory P2W scheme.

That’s just facts. Nothing “negative” about it.

Didn’t you know? You are forced to spend money on this game…

How did they get those numbers?
It’s the same servers, different clients.

If it’s sales totals through Google Play store, did they include Apple store sales? (PC would definitely NOT be included if that was how it was done)

Good to hear the game still doesn’t seem to be doing super well.
$20 million is $20 million too much of course.
The real test will be China.

Longer, I would assume. Most PC revenue went to Blizzard for D3 (well, shops took a cut, but digital sales did not). But for D:I afaik Google and Apple takes a 30% cut for the mobile sales.

I played for a couple of hours before uninstalling.
The game on its own, without considering the monetization, is trash.

The only thing they got from me is that I won’t be buying D4 for at least a couple of months after release, just to see how they actually manage the shop.

Just because you are having fun in Las Vegas enjoying tbe sights and shows without spending money in the casinos does not mean that gambling should be unregulated by law.

Just because you do not smoke does not mean that the tobacco industry should do whatever they please.

yeah and the moment you dont this happens because the whales report you for cheating etc despite the fact they had maxed out their credit card and you embarass them by using skill rather than money to beat your opponents
