I guess having played this game for a long time I see now it’s never going to be something you do that makes your player top of the heap as the game has total control of what drops how many boss , elites , etc in GR or any path that leads to a dead end just to manipulate any time you make , or and if you should get a primal it’s not even for your particular player . This just amounts hours of dead-end play for example I killed a entire group of goblins approximately 20+ , 6 of them where gem gobs and I got a total of 5 of the gems I need and a chest of gems I don’t use this is clearly the game controlling my progress D4 , I don’t think I’ll play this rerun of Game manipulation . Just my Opinion .
You need guidance:
the link is for Unhallowed essence build without the angelic power that is the season theme.
Use the cube to turn those unwanted gems into the gems you want :3
After playing “this game for a long time” it appears he still has not figured things out and is now venting.
Of course, it is all game controlled. There is nothing a Player can do to change how Maps, Monsters, Loot, or Random Numbers are generated.
A player can control what skills and gear are selected for efficient play, which OP has not done.
Multishot, Strafe and Rapid Fire all on a UE build? Really?
It appears that the gear was copied from a guide, but not the skills and passives.
And your opinion is meaningless since you clearly don’t know how to play this game.
You do know you can run Broken Crown that will make another gem of the color you socket in it drop every time a gem drops, and you can transmute one color gems to another in the cube?
There are avenues where your argument could hold some water in regards to drops in this game, gems are certainly not one of them though.
Ok so to add to what some others have said which applies well to your grievance.
I get the idea you don’t have a problem with what you are getting, but about the RNG in general, especially with items.
You don’t know enough about the game. And I am not saying this in a rude way, it is not a bad thing at all and all of us were there, people just don’t like admitting it for some reason. So just stating that as you learn more about the game the more some of these complaints will go away.
For instance which enemies you get, for the most part that isn’t a big deal at all. As most of your play should be at a level where it doesn’t make much if any difference.
Paths that lead to a dead end, even in potentially really crappy map sets this happens way less as you learn their general layouts. Yes it does, even the most experienced take a wrong turn sometimes because maps have them sometimes. But it happens so much less when you get that feel of how maps work. It is almost weird how you can look at the map and not even really take any time to decide and just feel like you instinctively know “I have seen this and this and turned there and a hallway like that so it’s left”.
And the last part of getting to know the game more, if you get the most effective setup for your build you will get way more items which takes lots of that feeling of RNG out of it. Like feeling you just can’t get those gems you need kind of vanishes if you get a few gems every few minutes since there isn’t even time to realise you don’t get them. Same for the items and their desired rolls. Also just remember it is part of the game and being around 1 000 paragon as your character is now is very much the point where your character isn’t ideally geared and you don’t get a great upgrade every GR and need to keep going for what you actually want.
So keep going and you will see how some of these complaints are resolved once you get to know the game.
Wow Someone that gets all the drops perfect Primal Custom made for his player . Good for you ! Happy Gaming .
RNG (or game program/manipulation) is indeed the vast majority of the game. There are times when the ‘randomness’ of it all isn’t that bad, it’s to be expected. Then there are times when this ‘RNG’ is just an insult to basic math you learned from kindergarten school.
If RNG is just shoveling
against the tide or up a slippery slope, best bet is to log out and restart the game. It doesn’t work all the time, but it seems to most of the time. Maybe that is another form of ‘RNG,’ who knows? Maybe I am being confirmation biased, who knows. In any case, it’s worth a shot.
With rerolls and making items, I usually do them in batches of 5. If I don’t get what I am looking for, then I continue playing for a while and try again. For me, it just ensures that I don’t use up all my materials at once. Of course, once you have logged in enough time, you will have materials pouring out your ears. At that point, go hog wild and truly test out that RNG.
Each season has a free class set that you can attain and yes that is definitely game controlled, but you can choose which class and when you want to collect the set. You choose if you want the free set in in regular play or Hardcore. Of course, each season is a different set, so it may not be the one you want. However, it could be good enough to help you grind for what you need.
You choose if you want to get loot from bounties, rifts, greater rifts, enhanced nightmares, or running story mode. Depending on how fast and efficient you are, will depend on how soon you get what you are looking for. Buuuuut, you still have to deal with RNG and time to grind for goodies.
