After unlocking the node, i never saw once this additional orb after killing an elite pack (yes i know, elite pack not elite mob only). No matter how i clear the screen of any pack, it always drop 4 orbs never 5, the seal is unlocked, restarted the game twice.
Am i the only one or is there a mechanics i ignore ?

PC, EU server, season softcore. I unlocked the extra progression orb from elites but no extra orbs are dropping. Keep getting 3 from blues and 4 from elites. Tested in private and public games, various difficulties, grift and nephalem rift. Tried quitting and rejoining, no effect. Thanks.
I’m also experiencing this. I’ve unlocked seal V - “Elite packs drop one additional progress orb.” I’ve not seen any extra orbs. Playing on PS5.
No changes here, still consistently not dropping extra orb
I also unlocked the extra orb in the Altar and i was getting the extra Orbs yesterday, but after logging in today it doesn’t drop anymore.
Update: I noticet that i do not get the additional Orb with my Monk (Innas wather ally build) but it drops when i play with my Wizard.
Update2: I tested it further and now it is clear, if i play any other build it dropps, but if i play innas and my ally kills the Elites it does not drop.
Seems to be the case here to (EU server).
Has this been fixed yet? I noticed not getting any extras at all like on PTR.
Update. Saw a new video from Wudijo about the altar. He says that the extra globe drops on you and that it is hard to see it (or it may not show at all?).
I haven’t unlocked the seal in question yet (only started my season) but I did notice this behaviour on the PTR. The extra globe drops where the player stands so it’s easy to miss.
Also keep in mind to kill all minions of the yellow elites. If you miss one, the extra globe won’t drop.
I know 
playing Typhon’s it’s hard to avoid killing everything.
