Your dream runeword for 2.4 ladder

What would your dream 2.4 runeword be? I know its not going to be possible but at least we can hope in the meantime. Here is mine:

I think helmets are greatly disparaged and good place to start adding runewords. Lore and Delirium are the only 2 that come to mind without looking up others.

Lore is quickly outgrown and Delirium has very limited uses and a very annoying drawback.

I would like to see some variety to at least fill in a gap untill you find but not totally compete with Shako or Andys.

We all are familiar with the fact theres are plenty of mid tier runes that are currently unerused and effectivly worthless.

I came up with these on the spot so only gave a few mins mins of thought while writing this went into each one of these and only including the main focus attributes. 1 for lower, mid, higher level, and 1 for end game play.

2 sock helm - (whatever 2 lower mid runes)
Flow No not Flo with name your price tool.
10% Faster cast rate
+15 to inteligence
+3 Mana mana per kill

  • 1 to telekenisis. (any character)
    Again just an early game acheivable helm runeword to give variety to the low-mid range.

Rhino 3 socket. (Again whatever runes but in higher mid/ lower Hr range)
+30 Fatser run/walk
+1 charge (Any character)
+20 Strength
50% enhanced defense
50% enhanced damage.
I think this would be a huge boon to melee characters. Not game breaking but would clean up the pace of the game for melee characters suffering from not being able to teleport like all the enigma users.

Branch (3 socket) 2 runes + a perfect gem
+3 a single skill tree depending on what gem you use. like ruby = +3 fire skill tab/skills.
+1 to a single defensive skill depending on gem used that can be used by any class but cannot be used simotaniously with another def/utitity skill and cannot be used as precast. (only while helm is worn)
Topaz - Energy shield!
Amythest - Cyclone armor
Saphire - Shiver armor
Ruby - Holy shield (obv shield uses only)
Emerald - Venom
Diamond - Fade
Skull - Bone armor
This is probably outside off current coding possibilties but it would be neat.

Iron (3 socket using HRs)
10% chance to cast lvl 5 burst of spead on being struck
15% crushing blow
+1 berzerk (any character)
9% life stolen
lvl 10 Concentation when Equiped
For the highest level Melee Characters to compete with andys.

Wouldn’t mind seeing lower runewords similar to Honor for max socket gear. A 5-6 socket “honor” bow. 3 socket helms. Something other than Stone. Shields are mostly in a good place… maybe 1 or 2 with decent melee OUTPUT.

As for something new: sorc orb runeword!

Another wand wouldn’t hurt either. Doesn’t even have to be necro specific.

Balance/Stability
No runes required, no base item required.
+0% to power creep.

That is all.

Given Blizzard announced ladders WILL have new runewords…

I’d like to see more competition for Spirit shield slot and competition vs enigma’s teleport. I’d like to see runewords with teleport besides Enigma for end game. Maybe a +2 all skills shield with teleport and tons of survivability, versus the caster spirit alternative. Like a super stormshield runeword with teleport. Sacrifice fcr breakpoints for survivability.

I hope they break the infinity meta with new runewords designed for mercs. Maybe offer cheaper conviction/lower res pole arms or 1h swords for a5/a5 merc. Ranged conviction rogue would be cool.

We basically need lots of Melee Class rune words so they can be better and something more powerful than Grief. With that said I’d like to get WW Barbs clear speed to that of other classes. It’s such an iconic skill that has taken a back burner.

You make it sound like other classes have it better…

If you’re caster you have Hoto, spirit, and Enigma…Not like there’s much choices for them either…

Grief is just prioritised because it’s stupid cheap for the amount of damage it provides. If they made it more expensive, I’m pretty sure other weapons would also see the light of day more often than they do right now.

Melee is far far behind Casters. Melee clear speed is slow and Grief is a bandaid that still isn’t strong enough to catch them up.

Melee is so bad and ITD addresses the AR problem. However Melee don’t do enough damage even with Grief. That is why we need more powerful Melee Runewords that address clear speed, damage and other weaknesses that Melee have.

Which is why I suggested a WW specific runeword to buff a weak ability compared to others to help with clear speed. Then asked for additional Melee Runewords for other classes.

Patch 2.4 though should bring Talent changes hopefully to make Melee more desirable.

Melee most of the time simply lacks AOE damage and I think one of the mods addressed this by giving weapons splash dmg which is a % of the weapon dmg. I don’t think melee is ever going to catchup to caster because they have to be in melee range to kill lol

Yea that is one way. Another would be talents.

Well in PoE that isn’t the case. They just have so much in build variety that lets Melee have as fast if not faster kill speed. Just take the Whirl Wind version in PoE (Cyclone) which has a massive AOE kill effect mowing down the screen.

Which reminds me. I just added +5 WW attack range to my WW Runeword.

I would like to see a druid pelt based runeword.
Mid tier runes, to give
+1-2 skills, +2 to wolves or bear or maybe to give an option to summon 2 more wolves or 1 bear.

The spear and helmet bases are criminally underserved. I remember concept art showing the druid holding a spear and was devastated by the poor attack speed base for spears on druid. A crossover that makes two handed weapons viable on the amazon, or barbarian viable would be mint. I want this to fit mid-level play and compete into hell when supported by other gear. Hel is underused as a rune and
