You knew MapHack was bad but

First off, we get it, it sucks being banned, but you cheated. However, I think it does highlight the fact that some of the features are needed in D2R. We need custom loot filtering, custom colouring, ilvl information, certain information should or shouldn’t be visible for players based on needs.

Other things maphack brings are the ability to read the map and see the packs. This isn’t really something that should be there. That is a huge advantage, but maybe in the future or if it ever is an issue again then an in-game ability to see maps or packs based on time in the zone. Kind of like finding maps for areas, but this is just a random brain fart to appease that crowd.

In the end I do think some of these should be features, it’s something I enjoyed when I used maphack before because it made life easier. I stopped using those shifty tools ages ago but I can understand why some were tempted.

Some just make sense.

I just want a way to hide the deluge of health/mana potion labels. I’m sick of spending 5-15 seconds picking up and quaffing them just to see what else is in the pile.

THAT IS ALL I WANT.

I don’t know, maybe “smart” potion labels? Only show a few labels for the highest level potions? As you pick them up, if there are more potions of the same type, they’ll show up. I don’t need to see all 20 of them.

I see this is poor argument. Do you remember 1.10? God mode? Pickit? Was it needed? No.

Yeah you are right with some features like loot filters. I just wanted to say that just because people use cheat doesnt mean game need something.

I think people bought D2R without actually understanding what a “remaster” means, and expect all the modern amenities and comforts to be retroactively tacked on.

If they can even get the game back to 2003 functionality, i.e. the lobby system, that would be something. But people are over here with this wish list crap. They merged Vicarious Visions into Blizzard, gave the Oneal lady a promotion and she’s already leaving.

People are flat out delusional with this game.

Well the argument was more towards those saying they are needed features, they are, it’s still a poor cop out for cheating but true.

To salve if he reads this, it’s already drastically changed, so not sure what you are getting at. The lobby was complained about and finally being fixed. Ilvl, sorting… in my mind are needed, and them being absent is hurting more then helping.

I do not agree with loot filters because the game was designed in this particular way: the chances to drop exceptional or elite items are small(er) and every time there is a drop you got to quickly decide if it is a normal, exceptional, or elite, especially for rares, so this all is part of the game. If you install a loot filter that hides everything except a couple of items, then I think this takes away from D2’s nature.

But maybe you can have improved graphics with smaller labels so that everything fits neater on screen, without losing too much of D2s soul.

in a game where 99,5% of everything droped is not worth to keep a loot filter is a must

What we need is an in game bot to farm for us when we go to work. Cut out the middle man and give us a basic in game bot! Or don’t. I guess a loot filter could benefit someone impaired, but I have never needed one myself. If anything, it has made me very sharp at spotting minute details very quickly!

sarcasm only look good on a very few people

is this some kind of meta?
