Lower Kurast Super Chest drops are from a fixed table of 65536 possibilities. They’re different from regular chests and monster drops. Repeating the seed and direction of approach repeats the drops in single player.

The runes are specified in the table, but specific rolls on magic or rares etc aren’t. For example, you may keep getting a Ber rune and a magic jewel, but the affixes on the jewel will roll differently.

not true, watch the video. he get’s clones of rare amulets and magic items. odds of getting those by chance rng would be astronomical. this means that rares and magic affix’s and rolls are preset on items in a loot table. he literally picked up 2 rare ammy’s with 5 affixes that were identical. that’s higher odds than winning the lottery.

this is definitive evidential proof positive that affixes and prefixes NEVER roll randomly on drop. they are just preset items and pulled from a loot table.

I might have been thinking it was the same as the armor racks. You can get repeat drops of the same item type on the racks if they’re approached by the same side on the same map, and they roll. As in, if a thresher drops, you can run it again until you get an ethereal one.

Nothing is ever fully random. Its interesting video, but I would feel like cheating using it offline and online its not much usable. Also i believe MrLama has video on this some time ago.

This might explain why I once found 2 completely identical Unique Myrmidon Greaves in same day on same map.

One thing that he said which rings very true… I’m paraphrasing:

The game seems to reward you less if you spend less time doing things in an area. Conversely, the game seems to reward you when you spend more time in an area popping chests/openables, breaking barrels, killing monsters, etc.

Even as a sorceress which is by far my most played class, I will teleport, then walk a bit just to spot containers to open, and I’ve routinely had good luck finding decent items.

So yeah, pop those containers, turn over those stones, hit those armor racks before rushing to the super chests.

Generally speaking:

“A seed is a number that initializes the selection of numbers by a random number generator; given the same seed number, a random number generator will generate the same series of random numbers each time a simulation is run.”

This seed is not the same in online play and probably varies every single time you create a new game and you cannot even control it locally (as far as I know).
For offline play you can set this number, thus you can directly modify the “randomness”. However, it is like editing a text file and setting 100% to rune drop chance, or like using a Hero editor.

i was brainstorming a possible bot that could record super chest methods and results per seed and after say 2 years have a nice index of guaranteed rune drop patterns.

That will take all fun from diablo, you find perfect pattern and do one run to get 5 Hrs and 3 elite uniques in one minute :smiley:

That’s pretty profound. You could technically get anything you wanted to drop, if you knew the specific circumstances.

No, because the chances of getting the correct seed is stupid low.

Now something like an advanced bot capable of exhausting trial and error and extensive cataloguing of seeds and tried combinations could widen the known seeds and their outcomes with the super chests. This of course would be something that only a bot would be capable of taking extensive advantage of on botter net.

Ahh hell, I’m probably giving the botters ideas. I should probably shup.

I bet some of the botter already mapped out stuff like this with CE. But I don’t think that those who did this and implemented that in their scripts would share it.

Imagine every casual botter would have the knowledge. Botting is too easy lol.
Tho looking at JSP, some casual botter have these informations.
Someone who is selling 100 of each HR on Jsp does not make it for a living. But all real money trading websites defo use it, can’t imagine they have 1000’s of systems running to provide so much BiS stuff in all variaties of the mainstats in those items to cover everyones budget.

AI going forward with stuff like this will be interesting. The more advanced it gets, to quicker it will find all exploits like this in all games where randomization is not truly randomized.

So, now you know, given the info that has come from this thread …

This why botters/cheaters/hackers/RMT’rs are using so many alts to try and push their agenda of /players x online …
