i just cant keep affording to play at this rate. everything costs double now, D2 is literally my only entertainment at the moment and i might have to quit. and the new season is coming up, im literally shaking and dont know what to do.

That was the first thought on why D2:R would be “expensive”.
It’s a buy once, play as much as you want game. If it were subscription based, I’d understand a bit more. The more you play, the more you stretch those dollars for entertainment.
If your cost of living/utilities are going up that high, then perhaps its time to move.

I feel you. Power bill up and Mosaic Asn is destroying my pc. Gotta buy a new one every 1.5 weeks. Very expensive game indeed.

If your laptop is overheating, that is a giveaway that it’s due for maintenance. Computers are dust magnets, so it’s probably time to blow out the dust. If it’s still overheating afterwards, then you probably have dust/lint/hair wads stuck in the fan/heatsink that is blocking the airflow or even preventing the fan from spinning, which would require disassembly of the laptop to remove the the dust wads, and possibly even ordering replacement fans if your fans aren’t spinning freely. It might do some good to put new thermal paste between your heatsinks and CPU/GPU. Often the factory thermal paste dries out which results in it being less effective at transferring heat.

d2r. this is the d2r forum, isnt it? i wont be able to play the next season. i tried ice but it drips water everywhere, the next best option costs $6 for a good 3o minutes tops.

The question becomes: How much is your time worth? For me, the return on time invested is not worth it to play ladder. Therefore, I play single player with D2RMM and find the right return on time investment that works for me. Problem solved.
