Yet another character

gone due to blizzard side DC. DC’d in NM baal in between waves and can’t start a new game due to dead hardcore character now. 3rd character this has happened to me. first two in cows.

off to Project Diablo i go, which truly is what I should have been doing all along. it’s truly sad when people who aren’t being paid do a better job than a corporate entity responsible for the IP

what a piece of trash this is. no wonder most of the long time players don’t want to touch this game with a 10 foot stick and a save exit macro

Before the pea brain steps in and tries to say you know what you got yourself into, i feel you.

I dont even play hardcore, at this point im just sick of needlessly dying at level 90 due to their rushed game. im thinking about jumping back on there as well untill they actually remaster the game, wich will probably be around a year at this rate.

I know HC is for the ‘‘thrill’’ but it’s honestly not a smart move. You made the decision and took the risk. I feel some sympathy and at the same time it’s your fault. Play SC!

Ultimately they would be right as I do know what I got myself into. I’ve lost many characters because of things I’ve done wrong, and those you just shake your head and laugh. D2R just feels like someone comes and steals some of my characters right in front of my face lol

and where do you get this wisdom from ?
I have had ONE SINGLE DC and ZERO crashes since release. Z.E.R.O. !
on TWO different PCs.
how about you guys get your junk pc and junk internet fixed instead of always blaming the game or the developers ?

I’ll second that I have not had a d/c that I can remember either. Gl on project diablo dont forget to make a free stuff here game for the scrubs before you leave

Kill Shenk a couple times and wait for the explosions to start. Your game will crash after a couple tries.

There are certain spots in the game that are broke.

prob going there to rip also

That why I don’t play HC or any other game that has similar things where if you die your character is gone. Mostly because of reasons you said. I would hate to put in a lot of work and then have the game crash causing me a death and no more character.

It definitely sucks, but that is a risk you have to take.

Where did you get this statistic from exactly?

If you play HC online then you must accept that your character will die sooner or later, whether it’s your fault or not. If you don’t accept this, then don’t play HC online.

^ this hc players need to stop complaining how “they died” due to no fault of their own.

that’s exactly what u signed up for.

otherwise you can also play softcore and delete your character when u legitimately die.
but unfortunately none of you have the self control to do that soo quit your whining.
that’s how I play hardcore.

I played hc in the pre-ladder days. I promise you, we had plenty of deaths caused by connection issues back then too. Probably quite a few more, given that most of us had 56k connections at best.

Friends don’t let friends play hardcore on an online service that is known to have connection issues, especially right now while they are still working on updating the databases to better support the game and playerbase.

Yes, you knew what you got into. Pea brain mode ACTIVATED!

I used to play hardcore for that extra thrill. Especially when you are about to die with a 90+, your hearts about to jump out, and you end up dying. Damn! they got me.

D2R, im literally dead before i can even see my screen. If i simply loaded into a wp with my hardcore 90+ and it loaded me in dead, id destroy my pc, thats why i avoid it.

oh and why have I NEVER seen this or ANY other error ?

We don’t talk about Battle.net 1.0 disconnect days… It’s a cardinal sin.

Just happened to me. Third 90+ character dead in hardcore because of this. Refund time because hardcore is the only mode i play, and if it doesn’t work properly and you can lose everything from nothing, then it needs to be refunded.

Not going to get refunded. You’ve played the game, you know the consequences of playing hardcore. The game is working as intended. Disconnects are an “agreed upon acceptance” term of the EULA. Service is never guaranteed, be it user fault, Blizzard’s fault or your ISP’s fault.

It would be wiser to not play at all if you’re not interested in Softcore mode. You’re wasting your time.

Death is always waiting for you in Hardcore. Doesn’t matter how it comes.

If you played during the golden days of D2, you know especially well that disconnects were far more prevalent than they are now.

You can argue that disconnects shouldn’t happen, but service is never guaranteed. The game works flawlessly as far as I am concerned. I haven’t seen a single disconnect in weeks now, let alone crashes.

There will always be an uncertainty factor in Hardcore.

You might also argue other games handle disconnects better than Diablo 2 and that’s a perfectly valid argument but Diablo 2 is old and so is its netcode infrastructure. Recoding how it manages and handles disconnect is no small task.
