Xbox One Controller malfunction

I’m using an Xbox One Controller and it had been working fine until yesterday. I’m playing a Hammerdin and Blessed Hammer is my “X” button and when i hit it it will reconnect my controller everytime. I even move Hammer to right trigger and same thing, all other skills work fine just not Blessed Hammer any way to fix it? Just a very weird issue

Have you tried switching the cable/wireless dongle to a different USB port?

If it’s a wireless controller, have you tried replacing the batteries?

Yes ive done both those things and same thing even restarted computer with adapter not plugged in and then re plug it in and same thing… thinking i might just need a new controller just weird its only with 1 skill no matter what button i set it to.

The controller disconnecting/reconnecting with Blessed Hammer on any button is weird.

I agree i mean i do think my controller is going out but the blessed hammer thing seems like a game issue also but idk.

I’ve used a lot of different controllers with the game. None of them disconnect when I use blessed hammer. It’s weird for sure, and very atypical.

I would say you’re probably the first person I’ve heard of this happening to.

Does the problem occur when you use another controller?

My xbox controller suddenly stopped working the other day; I had to get a new one.

Play on PC, problem solved.

Huh? He is playing on a PC.

Have you tried playing with mouse and keyboard?

mouse and keyboard is all I have ever used. Things are working as intended. controllers meant for consoles, not pc’s.

Ive seen errors like this before both on pc and console. Its not a bug in the game, its a bridging hardware error on your controller. It means the controller is getting worn out and likely needs replacing. Sometimes they will mess up and cross button signals just before getting ready for a button to die.

Easy fix is go on amazon or walmart get a $12 to $ 20 wired controller and replace it.

FWIW I just picked up a powera controller to use on pc, and it’s much more responsive and lower latency than the official xbox series s|x controller.

YMMV of course, but if you end up needing to replace it, you don’t have to buy an official xbox one. PowerA is generally much better in most cases anyway, from my experience over the past several years.

Anyway let us know if you resolve it without having to buy a new one, but I agree with dark, sounds like your controller is breaking down.
