I work weekends so I haven’t played the last few days. I’m now trying to play and the game is so annoyingly slow and laggy. It’s taking even longer to move wp to wp. I get “connection interrupted” before I even enter a game. Then just a black screen and it kicks me back to login.
If I manage to get in a game its not for very long. Going to a new wp is a gamble. Most of the time I get a black screen again with just my char and merc showing up, then I’m back into the login screen.
My whole pc runs like @$$ while its playing too. I can run any other game just fine with zero issues, but this game is just terribad.
/rant
Yep, I have a 3090 and this game treats it like a 10 year old low end video card lmao.
Careful you dont get server lag and accidentally sell a torch else ye be blamed fully lol
(happened to me recently)
both my 12 year old gaming pc and a 4 year old random pc i bought both run d2r fine. my older pc drops quite a few frames in like arcane sanc or parts of act 5 but otherwise has been a very smooth experience.
I noticed the same thing this morning. Suddenly I’m getting choppy framerates and all my fans kick on when there’s a lot going on. It’s weird.
ouch
Haven’t had that yet.
It’s just unplayable to me. I always have my other monitor playing youtube or something and can swap back and forth flawlessly, but the second d2r is running it almost freezes and cant play anything else.
You and all the other guys with highend card issues are suffering from the same problem.
Nvidia pushed a driver update yesterday, make sure your using the latest as updates to D2R will always be for the latest drivers
To the OP: it sounds like your playing on integrated graphics, an Intel HD 630 perhaps? I suggest the same solution to you, Intel drivers were updated just 2 weeks ago and I’ve personally seen incredible results after updating to them.
I’m playing on a nearly two year old budget laptop (700 dollars) with a dedicated GPU (gtx 1650ti I think) and am having very little problems. Game runs at 60fps no problem, I do keep settings at mostly medium/low though just because I don’t like taxing my computer (game still looks great). I did have some issue with my fans going more than I’d like but I think with driver updates and patches it’s pretty much a non-issue at this point (though they definitely still need to continue optimizing). Idk, seems like everyone differs on this, I guess I can count myself lucky I haven’t been having any real problems (besides lobby/queue/game throttling etc)
1650ti plays d2r incredibly well, I have a similar budget laptop setup with no lag, crashes but no lag
I’m currently using a Rtx 2060.
I have not tried to update anything yet, I will give that a shot!
What happened to this game is apparently everyone and their grandmother is waiting in a queue to play it even though it apparently “sucks” so much.
Didn’t know so many masochists existed in the world.
Who says Diablo 2 sucks?
Do I really need to quote the hundreds of spam threads that get locked regularly?
Looks like everything is up to date…
make sure its actually the most recent release, downloading and installing manually is the best way, dont go through geforces installer
The game doesn’t suck, however blizzard’s execution, servers and reused old code does.
I figured this was completely obviously but I guess not. I guess white knights will do whatever mental gymnastics possible to protect their blind allegiance.
Don’t blame “mental gymnastics” or “white knighting” for people bandwagoning their complaints and conflating issues.
Sounds to me like a bunch of people complaining about many different issues and I would bet most are affected by all of the main issues. I wish ever single person that was having problems would complain on these forums as it would gain more visibility through negative publicity.
Thanks for acknowledging exactly what I just said.
People posting “wall-o-text” complaints that are irrelevant to the same thread content, spamming the forums with exactly the same thread titles, and “OMG BLIZZ YOU SCK!!!” etc. is exactly what I’m referring to.
Yes, there are queues. No, I don’t agree it’s as bad as some make it out to be. I’ve run into the queues on occasion, and I’ve waited maybe an hour or so tops. I also know it’s that it has to be done, even if I disagree with their decision to remove TCP/IP to favor Battlenet. My opinion is that should have been forced ONLY for “Ladder” play, where competition is the driving factor.
Yes, there are also people playing on potato PCs with an iGPU which isn’t supported, and about a million different combinations of hardware that cannot be accounted for.
Coding for consoles is easy… because it’s “predictable”. It’s the exact same hardware on each platform. But custom PCs aren’t “predictable”. Then you also have some not updating their drivers regularly, some who blatantly run cheat programs and other things, and so forth.
To simplify it all as “it’s the GAME” is quite ridiculous and willfully ignorant, as there really are a great many players who play the game without issue. Most of them don’t even see the forums because they’re playing without issue.
You want to call me a “white knight”, yet you don’t even know what the hell you’re talking about. Perhaps you should do a bit more “research” on my prior posts and you’ll see I don’t defend Blizzard at every turn, I just know there’s a lot of conflation and sockpuppetry, a lot of rhetoric and useless misinformation rather than focusing on the actual issues.
Maybe if blizzard wants to stop hearing the complaints, and stop it from hurting the poor little ears of their customers then maybe they should hurry up and fix the game. Until then I hope the forums turn into one big complete mess of complaints and doesn’t serve any other purpose than a big vent.
That’s not D2 related. It’s really to departures from D2.
