With the new cube recipes to upgrade set items, what set items are going to be good to get in Ladder?

Just curious of what people are going to do.

Will be funny to see someone in a fully upgraded Sigons, for example.

Exceptional iratha would be fine. IK gains a little armor. Hwanins weapon is ok. Nat’s boots for kicksin. Aldurs still weak. Arctic furs is funny though… don’t waste your runes on the elite though.

I love the 50 fire res, though. Those boots fill the gap on the spirit shields for a long time.

Arctic, Death and Iratha are viable Normal tier sets to upgrade to Exceptional, notably for extra Potion slots in Belt. Spending the runes/PDiamond to upgrade to Elite is not worth the cost imo. As for Exceptional/Elite sets, Natalya Boots for Kick Damage is a blatant given. Hwanin Weapon would deal more damage, hence an upgrade might be viable. IK Helm, Gloves, Belt and Boots merely yield additional armor but are not out of the question given that IK Maul and Armor take more Strength to equip than the Elite variants of Helm, Gloves, Belt and Boots(and you shoot right to 230 from 185(Elite Strength requirement on Gloves + Belt)). Same deal for other sets in that all you really gain is + Armor, with the exception being Aldur Weapon but that set item is severely hampered by its mods(really needs Enhanced Damage).

Aldurs boots are nice on their own for sure. Adding belt slots will be the most popular.:+1:

I’m thinking Iratha’s is your best bet. I used a normal Iratha’s set well into Hell difficulty only changing it out once I got to the Ice Caves in Act V.

They need to unlock the normal → exceptional set upgrade recipe for non-ladder, which would be in line with how the unique base upgrade recipes are.

I’m wearing whatever trash drops…honestly…I dont care as long as its better than what I dropped.

I think only Death sash is worth upgrading for melee chars and maybe Natalya boots for kicksin.

Upgrades that give higher defense are pretty worthless.

Weapon upgrades also suck. Considering Pul rune, you get much better rather than upgrading and using the Set.
