pretty sure back in the day i could drop my cube for alts and then get it again on my main. would be great if i could do this !
you can… Drop it and go to a new game and get your cube from Halls

Pretty sure I tried that on release and it didn’t work. Was able to loot the cube on mule, but got no new one for the main character, tried all difficulties as well.
Had to shuttle the mules themselves to act2. But alas, you only gain 8 more slots, which is kinda meh anyway.

its mostly for rune and gem mules to upgrade
You can still do this, i just did it a couple games ago. Just perm the game, drop it and pick it up with mule. My gem mule needed it as well.
Make a new game afterwards with original guy and run to tombs, there will be a new one when you open it.
This function is definitely possible. You must have tried to shift click your cube into your stash and that is not allowed.
