Will there be a way to play a "pre-2.4" version of D2R?

My wife is perfect and she has flaws.

You know “perfect imperfection”?

If not google it and I´m sure you will understand what I mean with that.

Or to phrase it differently, “there is no light without the dark” - the imbalance or whatever you don´t like about current D2 is part of what makes us appreciate the “good” stuff even more.

Did you just post the same thing here and in a new thread? Stop spamming mate.

Whats funny is that the OG game has a wide range of Mods that basically re-design the game. Now that Acti-bliz is all about mucking over modders, I expect the D2:R Mod scene to be dead, but they can’t retro-ban all the mods for the OG game, which is why I am asking this to begin with. Can I still download Retro LoD for my PC, and Mod it, or are all downloaded copies now 2.4?

Its to bad that nothing can be the same as it used to be. Everything must change these days and everyone need the games to be pony lvls with raining loots. Personal loots will destroy the game as d3 are destroyed. To easy and no value in items. One good thing with d2 is that you can go back for the game after a long break and know how it works. And its give such a hipe when a good loot drops. And so on. Its so many other games that can be ponygames. Pls dont change diablo to much. The high grafic and shared chest are great good stuff. But pls no setgameplay and so on. Dont change to much. Give the effort to small updates like they have done with block via the chat and so on. And find something to get away with bots. Thats the most importent of all. Bots and shops. Bad english just need to write things down

Perfect=no flaws, thats basicly definition of it.

You didnt say that tho. And Perfect inperfection is just BS. Either its perfect or not, if it has flaws, its not perfect.

Diablo 2 is very far from being perfect., as I said it has many flaws.

Well, NOTHING can be perfect, just as good as it can be - even the definition says it that way. Why do you think perfectionist will never be satisfied?

But let’s say there is something perfect → this is subjective - so who gets to decide what makes it “perfect” (as good as it can be)? Not you and not me. Individual opinions.

So, perfect in the sense you mean, can never be achieved - thats why you shoot into nothing.

This debate is going nowhere with this. My point was that Diablo 2 is not even being close to be perfect, its far from it.

Do you for example consider act 3 mercs perfect? just fine? or useless?

I’m on board with you - just wanted to clear the perfect definition.

There are so many things that scream for change, but for people who see the last years known diablo as their “perfect” (as good as it can be for them individually) - let em have that. For many the little QoL changes and graphics was their dream for years, nothing else.

Get it to the 1.14d experience with graphics and QoL on one server and lets explode with changes on another.

In my terms I am very interested in the changes and chances would be high I like it even more and never or only occasionally look back - BUT I really want the state it has now to be preserved.

Merc Topic:
Changes are necessary for sure.

Short answer; no.
Long answer; you play the version of the game that Blizzard entertainment wants you to play. The only potential type of pre-2.4 playable game will be offline only. It is far too expensive and time consuming for any company to maintain multiple versions of their product for users.

What you don’t understand is that the game will still play the same. The only difference is that, if done right, the changes will give us more builds to play with. Also we will likely get more starter builds for ladder. So we don’t always gravitate to the normal Hammerdin, Blizz, Smiter, etc…
