The entire story of Diablo is amazing and we have only been exposed to a small percentage of it.
Will we ever see Endgame or end of story tier bad guys like Anu and Tathamet?

We have. Anu is the 5 archangels, and Tathamet is the 7 evils.
Ya Diablo himself would have been the closest to tahamet but only because he had their essences.
Diablo 4 could have his smoldering husk and have it embed like Surtur with whatever evils that can be returned.

Yes but 5 archangels and 7 evils separate are different than the whole being.
I know in d3, diablo had all of the souls, BUT it was done horribly. I’d prefer the real tathamet with 7 heads, and the real Anu.
Show the real potential of a nephalem
Yeah big 7 headed dragon would have been awsome. But than it wouldn’t be a Diablo game if we don’t have to defeat Diablo him self.
But i could see that comeing in D4. That instinct in demons to merge togeather can’t just die.
Diablo almost pulled it off, but he was the dominant entity in the demon soup, through posessing a body, with his own blood.
And demons can’t agree in anything. One always wants to rule over the others. So if they merge, and no tricks one being dominant, what will be the outcome? Will Tathamet have a complety new, unique consciousness, or the 7 heads will have the 7 seperate entities, fighting eachother?
And can the angels merge togeather? And when resurrecting angels will not be the same, they become a complety new individual. So what if they can’t become whole again? Because one became mortal and one died, and Imperius will most likely become corrupt. Because they can also be corrupted. And if they can become whole, will Anu only have one eye? Since the Worldstone is one of their eyes.
There are a lot of loop holes. But a lore master could help out.

how could simple human heroes be able to handle something like that?
Well humans have the option to unlock their nephalem powers, but even that might not be enough. I don’t how they will solve the lore and the story. Maybe they won’t even pull out the Tathamet card ever again.
