Need A sol rune for my helm. Just need to know if it will drop anywhere on Normal? Thank you in advance.
Yes, you can find Sol in Normal. However, if you make it to NM, the countess can drop them. But it is fairly common to see them drop in normal.
sol rune drop in normal is very low probability. you cant get one off of the forge so sol is effectively a high rune drop in normal.
You can find them in normal sure. I wouldn’t bother farming for it though since you can do NM countess for like 20 minutes and have at least one.

I have spent two days farming Nightmare Countess and Andariel looking for a sol rune and an SoJ respectively and I have found neither. I managed to get enough runes to craft two sol runes though, after searching for a few chipped gems on my mule. I’ve been wondering if they made sol rare or something, but I guess the chance is still there…

They’re a dime a dozen once you’re out of nightmare
Sol runes cost maybe 6 chipped gems or 3 perfect gems each in the Trade channel - unless you’re playing using only what drops.

I didn’t find any there either… And I have made it to Duriel. Still wasn’t able to make either a Lore or Insight, and I was really starting to feel it.
I remember Nightmare Countess had a good drop rate on runes, but she has been insanely stingy. Sometimes she doesn’t even drop a single rune, and this happens more times than one would think right. I also wanted to run Andariel as well for a Stone of Jordan, but she has only dropped a single ring in two days and it wasn’t what I wanted either. This game is a cruel trolling mistress for the self found.
3 amn runes and a chipped amethyst in the cube will give you a sol rune too.

Yeah, that is what I had to resort to.
This is maybe the realest thing I’ve read in awhile lol. I’m looking for a 4 socket elite thresher / cryptic axe / giant thresher. I’ve had multiple 1, 2, 3, and 5 sockets drop. I’ve socketed at least 5 normals in the cube also. Never a 4 socket. Driving me crazy lol.
