When ladder season 1 launched, I was under the impression that ladder-only cube recipes would be coming to non-ladder eventually. I have a few set items I’d really like to upgrade.
I was content to wait on this, but the new cube recipes do not work. I’ve been saving Lem and Ko runes for this. It would be great know if, and ideally when, this is happening. I would use the runes for something else or trade them if the ladder-only cube recipes are never coming to non-ladder.
Any information is appreciated.

I asked about Horadric cube recipes.
NOT runewords.
Why would a new Ladder only feature come to nl after 1 season? Give them SOME credit, its Diablo 2 after all. You were spoiled with Ladder only Rws at launch, tsk tsk. We need motivation to Ladder even though its not winable.
Because that’s what we were told when ladder 1 started… that all ladder only stuff would be part of non ladder game play when a new ladder season was launched.
I’ve been waiting for the exact same thing, the ability to upgrade some set items, been saving runes for it as well.
Could I grind for better items instead? Sure… but that’s besides the point. Information about this is scares, not all want to play ladder, not all have room to even create a ladder character. So when we are promised the ladder only content will be part of the non ladder game, we expect such promise to be honored.
Looking through the history of the game, eventually ladder only content should be released for non ladder, however I am fairly sure few would have the patience to wait around for years, for it to happen. Personally I haven’t really played this game in months because of this. I was so excited to build up characters for specific sets and upgrade parts of it after season 1 ended. Having that dream put on hold, killed my game joy.

I’m paraphrasing here, but Rob Gallerani said that the previous new D2:R ladder only runewords will become available non-ladder when more D2:R runewords become available in “the next season”. There was no specific mention of “all ladder only stuff” including the ladder only cube recipes moving to non-ladder.
The reason the new runewords didn’t move over this ladder is because there were no new runewords released, so they kept the current new runewords ladder only.

Now they did say that all previous original game ladder-only runewords will become available non-ladder, which has happened. So I’m not sure if you mis-read something, but again, there was no mention of the current ladder-only cube recipes introduced in D2:R coming to non-ladder.

This is what confused people! Blizzard probably won’t allow Ladder rws to be made on nl despite what a dev mentioned. Besides that, people take what was said out of context. Ladder only items is a part of D2 legacy.
