They have made the date public and they have used a lot of marketing time and money to push the date. So I don’t see it as an option for them to delay D2R.
Not likely. Vicarious Visions who is doing most of the remaster is in New York state and only recently was brought under the Blizzard umbrella this year-ish. They had nothing to do with that stuff and are just working along on D2R.
We have a release day announced and unless something gets hung up on the Blizzard publishing or server tech/support/deployment side, we are fine.

I don’t know VV’s current situation but if VV is still in Albany, NY then the likelihood is that the ‘distraction’ (bad word choice, but can’t think of anything better atm) the legal allegations are causing the team is likely far less than they would be if in Irvine.
It might impact a couple of things by the deadline but, in honesty, I think the impact will be minimal if VV is still in Alban
Yah as far as we know they aren’t implicated. Though activision other studios like the COD ones and its publishing arm Have been implicated in this, from the rumblings I have heard. So the problems do extend outside of the blizzard studios.
Also it still might effect release though, with the walkouts as well as bnet team has been directly implicated. Which I assume is working with vicarious visions on updating the D2R networking code.
A walk out can just take an afternoon, huh.

Fire the yahoo’s after they’re proven guilty in court.
Rehire David Brevik, Max and Erich Schaefer in the empty positions.
Repurpose those positions and let them get started on the second DLC to D2.
With Matt doing the music.

I’m very curious if the stock stays at it’s lowered price and if WoW starts shedding subscriptions. If that will mean that they’ll be hell bent (pun intended) on getting D2R out the door more than even before.

What is going on at Blizzard is not a topic for amusement in any way, shape or form. Please maintain a level of tact while bringing up sensitive matter on a public forum. You might think it’s okay, but others do not and it can be offensive.
That was years ago because they made a gambit by tendering their resignation due to their grief that Vivendi Games was going to “let people go” if I recall.
They gambled that Blizzard HQ would listen because they had done so before, but this time they accepted the resignations.
To be fair they went on to create the first looter shooter, on which Borderlands, Destiny, and several other successful franchises are modeled from.
and the only reason that looter shooter failed is because the dumb a-holes at EA forced them to release the game before it was ready…and they couldn’t fix it in time before peeps got too ticked off and left.
blizzard still controls what happens and vv merged with blizz so they no longer exist its gonna get delayed no doubt
