I for one am quite concerned about the prospect of D2R launch and even beta getting delayed due to the on going legal issue in California.
Whilst I hope that the case can be resolved satisfactorily for people, I do however believe that the team at VV shouldn’t be held back from all the work they have done.
What do you guys think? Do you think it will be delayed? Personally, I don’t think it will and certainly hope it doesn’t, but I want other opinions.

With Vicarious Visions being a recent addition to Blizzard, I doubt that the progression of D2:R would be slowed by that much if any at all. Their staff may be questioned one by one since they are now under Blizzards company umbrella, as long as there are no reports of any harassment issues, I think they would be allowed to continue operations.
The news is still concerning though. I do hope those at fault are found and the book is thrown at them. Zero tolerance.
This case will likely not be resolved before D4’s first expansion is released, and people are worried about D2R?
Lol, how many of you have actually hired lawyers before? A small family matter can take years. D2R will be an old title when this case is resolved.

Well yea I suppose so, legal action can drag on for years, but I just wanted to know if people thought the game/beta would be delayed is all.
That is a realistic perspective.
Something with a company this big, is liable to drag for a bit.
Chances are they’ll probably settle out of court to keep it as quiet as possible.

In potentia, if the terms of the suit have claims directly involving development and revenue thereby acquired, like royalties or many other things. The claimants appear to be more global though rather than citing specific games/moneymakers (except perhaps their own when asked to shake them).

There’s a thing called a Justice system, maybe you should look into it.
There are many ramifications of such a publicized scandal. If a company is forced to restructure to improve it’s internals as well as improve external relations, it could lead to less employees and budgets for products, reduced productively on current projects, etc. It could delay projects while the shuffle happens, cancel planned updates to already published titles, etc. Will this cancel D2R, Diablo 4, or Overwatch 2? No, but there may be delays as behind the scenes things happen.
