Why Trav is the best place to farm HRs for real players and bots

I found this video recommended to me today on YouTube. I’m just going to share it since it contains a great amount of useful data to help players better understand rune drops rates for doing trav runs when they’re competing against botters.

1x ber per 1729 runs. 1729/30days = roughly 58 games a day a little over half the number of games the bot makes per hour except the casual player should take their time and use 2 hours to reach 58 games instead of one. So about 2 hours of farming trav a day at 2mins per run over the course of a month seems more plausible for the casual player. Then gradually increase/decrease number of games/timeplayed accordingly to gain better yields.

Keep This In Mind For Ladder Reset

Perhaps make multiple Hammerdins to switch to incase one gets locked out of game or timeout. Then you can just switch to the alt and rinse and repeat.

I have a difficult time accepting his data. He got 1164 Lem runes. He got 1067 Vex-Ohm-Lo-Sur. So basically every time I find a lem rune I should expect to also find a high rune between Vex-Sur. There’s 931 runes Lo+, more often than Pul.

Seems skewed.

Would be more plausible if it was a barb tho

Well in this case it seems just purely running about 66 (122 total) bots for an average of 35 seconds game. I’d assume they create games in sequence of those 122 accounts to equal the approximate 100~ games per hour (of course it’s higher, but using 100games/hour) while also avoiding “fail to create” bugs.

A single human cannot copy this pattern online because even if you can do your runs with an overall average of 35 seconds a game you will inevitably be hit with the timeout message which may force a player to remain in your the lobby for a minute (or more) which will ultimately affect your total for a 24 hours time frame. Whereas the way sequential series of bots might be able to do them in a manner where that is not an issue for them.

So let’s say the total number of bots averages 100 runs an hour (it’s probably more but I’m going off of given data) then the average player might only average 33-50 games an hour or much less. In the video it states a player playing at the same rate as the bot for one hour a day will get ber rune in 17 days which is 100 runs a day. An average player that does 17 days of 30~ runs an hour rate for one our of playtime a day instead of 100/hour rate go towards possibly 80+ days (or close to 3 months) before getting a ber or Jah rune to drop. That’s not to say an average player won’t find tons of other runes before that and most likely the ones below vex or mainly high runes that are worth fractions of Ber or Jah.

This is an estimation and not approximate, but I’m assuming it would be similar to what I am suggesting for an average player which means it’s almost not worth it to waste your time doing trav runs unless you can literally farm them consistently without interruption for at least 12 hours a day at the 35 second/game avg. Then Maybe it’d take close to 3-4 days to get ber or Jah to actually drop with those odds from the data.

1x ber per 1729 runs.
One thing I am uncertain about is if the 35 seconds per game affects the total number of games for ber to drop. For example, if you’re running slower than 37 seconds a game could it increase the total number of runs to drop the rune? I don’t think anyone knows the answer to this.

I’m a firm believer in trav for HRs. I see people saying they haven’t found a BER or Jah in 20 years and I’m sitting here finding a BER and Jah in 2 days in maybe 700 runs at trav. Farm trav and be rich like the rest of us trav farmers. Is luck involved? Of course. Everyone has dry spells but trav is tried and true. You WILL find an HR eventually.
