As someone who has enjoyed playing D3 ladder (I only create ladder characters) but never tried d2 ladder I am curious the appeal. I know in classic D2 you had access to ladder only rune words which is cool but aside from that it was pretty much the same game as non-ladder. For those people who enjoy ladder what are the main selling points in your mind?
Fresh economy. Even mid grade items are hot. It’s fun for trading and seeing how much wealth you can accumulate.
Fresh start, fresh hungry economy, greater player base, allure of rank, hopefully ladder only content moving forward.
Fresh start with everyone else with nothing
Fresh economy
It will be fun dude.
I will make one character in ladder and farm the entire time and trade items to create wealth. I then take that character and turn them into a dueler on non-ladder with the most elite gear.
Rinse and Repeat.
That “fresh economy” argument is just a fallacy…
The only reason to play d2r 1st ladder is the exclusive content
Same reason as for D3 - there you just push for top10 GR - here you push for top10 level except your character isn’t fully geared 5 hours after reset and it’s actually hard since you also need to collaborate with other people and participate in the economy.
The old Diablo 2 ladder offered ladder only items and rune words which you would take back to non-ladder at season’s end. This gave an actual reason to play Ladder as it was the only way to get an X Y or Z on your Non-Ladder character.
There’s actually no real reason to play Ladder in D2R except for the “fresh economy” that lasts a few weeks at best. Level 99 is reserved for bots so good luck hitting the top of the ladder. May the best bot win.
What a bs
20chars…
What’s the exclusive content though? I was under the impression that non-ladder would see all the same changes except for the ladder only stash tabs.
Call it exclusive the same way Sony calls GoW exclusive
I like the fresh start and playing with others who are also questing through the game. It’s a fun two weeks before everyone goes solo mfing or just baaling
A) to play with friends who want to come back.
B) to compete to be the first team to Hell and possibly level 99 (if you’re into that).
C) To accumulate wealth via 3rd party sites.
yea, the game is simple. We mf every day and fight the same monsters. We made a lot of characters of the same skills in the past before we can respec just because of putting 1 point of wrong stat or skill.
we play again and again in each ladder in the past hoppig to climb up ladder faster in the early ladders. We want to get new ladder only items in the past. We tried to level up to 99.
ladder is a memory and is a dream where no bots exist at the first 2 months. Blizz bands a lot of accounts using mh or bots before. When u see a band wave, a ladder is about to begin.
i dono if i ll still play ladder. But it seems that i will play a while to engage in a server with normal and nightmare full of players. Take a look in non ladder normal and nightmare. It’s a dead pool.
Maybe d2 players enjoy repeat doing things?
There is ladder only runewords in this game also derp
for the occasional player with job, wife and kids these days, ladder is not really fun or an option I guess. If you can invest loads of time in the first weeks, there really is new challenge in the game. Otherwise I don’t see any benefit in starting new and taking months to come to the point of farming ability
How can you say this lol? Current economy is full of items already. New season is restart of economy, shako again for Ohm and stuff like that. Of course people play for that, majority is actualy.
Ladder only items was always only secondary reason.
I really dont know what your standards are but i make a ohm in 2 days of farm RIGHT NOW
And you know who pays a ohm form a shako? Rmt/fg users
So, in the end, there is no “fresh economy” when people are carrying over their wealth from nonL to L…its nothing but a fallacy
To farm some items, sell them for fgs on jsp then invest the gain on no ladd pvp character
I dont care who pay for it, important for me is that I sell it.
Yeah so? if you know what to do, you can make a looooot more at start of season than your Ohm in 2 days. Not to mention I have hard time to believe you. I seriously doubt you make Ohm every two days now, unless you play nonstop.
You didnt provide any argument why its not fresh economy. So you are still wrong. You will mostly likely play ladder anyway just like majority will
