Why is the amazon so ungodly ugly?

She looks like a man, that’s why it deviates from the traditional design.
Since she looks like a man most man will call her ugly, because most man like feminine women. This is in their dna. This is also fine.

So, to sum up, there are no crossed lines, you are too snowflake for the normal world.
Let me guess, an american?

It doesn’t deviate as much as you think.

What are you on about?
Just compare the size of the jaw, not even close

Open diablo 2, go to the char screen and tell me that you can say the amazon looks like a man? You can’t unless you lie

The main difference is the size of the cheekbones.

And the mascara, eyeshadow, blush and lipstick.

I disagree. I think the jaw, chin and mouth is very manly looking. I also do not like the very prominent nasolabial folds that make her look both masculine and older.

You cannot compare to the pixel 2D art obviously. Look at the character selection screen in D2 and the Blizzard box art and promotional art.

Just dropping by to say an obvious fact: the amazon is ugly. That is all.

EDIT: Oh, also they deleted another thread today. It seems they delete several threads on a daily basis about how bad and ugly the current d3r characters are. Can’t silence the truth no matter how hard you try.

I’ve never heard of anyone being “burnt at the steak for witchcraft”. (Can I have mine medium rare?)

They were burned at the stake for witchcraft.

You people can argue all you want. This is all   I   know and it’s just my personal opinion:

 • I’m a man.
 • I’m 100% heterosexual.
 • I prefer playing archer Classes.
 • I prefer playing female Characters. (I’m not that into role-playing).
 • If I’m going to spend tons of hours over many years playing a game, I want something pleasing to look at.

You can’t see that much detail in a tiny sprite.

Your right she should look like the girl in white from Code vein!

What point are you even talking about?

The Argumentum Ad Populum fallacy?
You’re the one who used the fallacy.
Your the one who already said you don’t care one way or another, So just why are you arguing/defending that she **Doesn’t Still Need Work ** on her face so…

I don’t care what Blizzard decides to do. It’s their game.

My opinion still remains that the current amazon looks fine.
It’s not going to change, because we have different views.
 Pretty sure he has money invested on the gaming studio developing this which is why he’s adamant it’s fine

Actually, I did pre-purchase the game.

The money wasn’t the reason I said she was fine.
I personally think the new design looks good.

Just want to emphasize Archy’s take that he has had on this thread. What matters is how the remasters characters compare to the look and artist intent of the old. Instead of understanding that crucial element, we instead got much manlier looking faces for the women in particular. Not to mention sudden race changes.

Archy, I sent you a friend request btw. I hope you don’t mind, but I like to play with like minded individuals if you are interested.

I mentioned this in another thread and I will here as well:

I find it odd how they pointed out replicating the art of d2 by adding garlic to act 2 (was just a few pixels in the original). Yet we get to the D2 characters and the characters look so different. The Assassin has a race change. The barb looks smaller and not as intimidating. The druid looks more like a barbarian than the barbarian. The Paladin has an afro now? Sorc face looks off. Amazon face IS off. If the design philosophy was to to stick to the original art intent, then what the heck happened with the characters?

That’s what she said.

It’s dumb, but I will always upvote this. Always.

Is it dumb? Sometimes the cheese is what makes it better.

It’s so disappointing to see how they’re handling this.

And there’s always an objective truth that follows a large volume of the same subjective opinion: it is an objective fact that the vast majority of players have the subjective opinion that the Amazon face is problematic and is not authentic to D2.

MrLamma’s survey had the Amazon’s face as the #1 problem with models and authenticity.

But you still have some really odd arguments from people that subjectively think the Amazon face is fine and equate this single subjective opinion with the overwhelming numbers on the other side: that the Amazon is simply ugly, not authentic and needs rework.

It’s kind of like people absurdly saying “But I like it therefore your strength in numbers is invalidated”.

And then you could get into the facial recognition software aspect. When you plug in the face and it comes back with Jeff Daniels or David Bowie, both men. That has some form of objectivity to it.

They have a problem with Amazon’s face. A big one.

But at the same time I think the CM’s are in a tough spot and we should all just take a beat and see what they come up with.

There’s a blue post above:

Just confirming that we are most def going to be looking into it and possibly doing some iterations on this.

So they may just be deleting threads knowing that the face will change. Hard to say.

Max Reede:
My teacher tells me beauty is on the inside.

Fletcher:
That’s just something an Amazon says.

It’s funny how the #1 is the amazon, considering what the paladin looks like.
