This is probably the most cringeworthy part. She looks like a ripped granny (grandpa?) with the hair of a woman in her prime and the voice/attitude of a high school cheerleader.

Unfortunately I am not allowed to post either links or pictures here but if you search Hossein Diba’s amazon model you will see how the proper amazon model should looks like. I believe most of the D2R community will agree. His model is not like coming out from a night club but in the same time she is feminine and a faithful remaster…

The Amazon definitely needs some work. I think giving her a less-ridiculous bust and a slightly less revealing outfit was appropriate, but if I was a trans woman, I might actually be offended by her face. It’s a little on the nose that they gave that face to the female class with the most physical strength.
Of course, I’m not a trans woman, so my aforementioned opinion shouldn’t be given too much weight, but the fact that it occurred to me at all probably says something.
As for the Assassin, I would defer to Asian players to determine if she is an offensive stereotype or a welcome attempt at inclusivity.
The Barbarian probably does need to be a bit younger. We can earn his scars; he need not start with them.
The Druid definitely needs to get more sleep. He looks like a red-headed Necromancer with a tan.
The original voice acting for the Paladin was done with a vaguely African accent, and he did have dark skin, so making him black was probably just fulfilling the vision Blizzard had two decades ago but weren’t able to properly execute at the time due to graphical limitations. I am not qualified to determine if his exact appearance is an appropriate implementation of that vision.
The Necromancer is ugly as hell (no pun intended) and a little creepy, but that’s probably intentional. I don’t think anyone was expecting him to be easy on the eyes.
I have no complaints about the Sorceress. I think they actually did a really good job with her. Her piercing pale eyes on the login screen are a nice touch.

When I noticed that they changed the necromancer’s spirits-pouring-from-body animation (in char creation screen) to blue flames, it clicked. Vicarious Visions gave zero attention to original detail and plastered some binary gender model over the characters we grew up loving.

15 month old post but I need to disagree. Sorceress aged 20 years somehow. It’s a videogame remaster, not a TV series reboot.
If anything, all of the classes should look more attractive in the new graphics. It’s a role-playing game, I don’t want to play as an aging witch who looks like she waxes her upper lip. I don’t want my paladin to look like he has a head injury and stares into the beyond. I don’t want my necromancer/druid to look like he’s sick of this $%!+. I don’t wan’t my assassin and amazon to decide to take testosterone at 40 years old. I don’t want my barbarian to look like he went to too many frat parties and missed every leg day.
Not the d2 experience I grew up with.
People will say “omg why you care about this, you’re objectifying body types and being brainwashed by old ideals of what beauty is”.
No, I just want to play the same character models I have played for 20 years. Not these stunt doubles.

Amazon was the most perky 19 year old lady for most every fat teen boy in the world - now she has aged and the steroids and human growth hormone have made her talent tree better but her face worser
if she was on a march in America today she would be attacking with black clad gangs and yelling, “ I identify as an Amazon man and I will spear your fat face in!”
This is why I don’t befriend Amazon’s - as we all know the Greeks defeated the Amazons who cleft their breast so they didn’t have a bow implement but today Amazon warriors just use keyboards and offend the awful unromantic fat nerd man lower body deflater face … fat nerd men everywhere are crestfallen with her ugly face they really have lost something at the sight of her….
