Why is duress armor make me do much more damage than peace?

Hi,

I just tried something. Same armor, same gear, same mob, same difficulty (players 8 act1 NM), 1 armor is a duress the other armor is a peace.

When i wear the duress, it’s like i did 1/3 more damage it’s weird. OK, it have +%damage on it but the peace one have +skills on it.

Can someone explain to me why?

Thanks

same reason grief is good eh?
And that’s the power of math people

Would be helpful to now what build you playing. I am guessing Amazon because you said +skills on Peace. I am also guessing not Java if you deal more damage with Duress. That leaves us with Bowa. If it is Physical bowa then + skills are nearly irrelevant to damage.
Duress damage bonuses outweight +2 skills and +2 CS.
Duress adds:
10-20% Enhanced Damage
Adds 37-133 Cold Damage
15% Chance of CB
33% Chance of OW
It is much more than Peace.

Because of the magic of MATH! omg.

I play a bowazon.

Yes i understand the math, but the math on this game is poorly explained. +10-20% damage on what? Your total damage? Your base weapon damage? Your base weapon damage + the cold/fire/light/poison damage added?

+2 skills give me +20% damage rating and + 26% chance to critical hit AND a lvl 15 Walkyrie. That is why i ask.

Math in this game is not easily explained.

I totally get why grief is so strong though, it’s just written on the item, easily understandable.

EDIT: NEVERMIND, MrLlamasc pemdas just explain everything

Your hilariously dumb, the math here does not explain why a Grief is stronger than a BotD that does higher min and max damage.

Its probably because of open wounds and crushing blow.
