Just want to ruin this game?
so push us to d4?
They like botters.
They also pulled 99% of resources to focus on D4.
It is also a play on forcing you towards purchasing D4 cuz thats all they care about is if you purchase it.
Regardless bots don’t affect you and worrying about them is a waste of time b/c blizzard loves botters more than you.
Just give Blizzard time, they need time. They ban wave will come, but it wont wont happen right now.
I hope I am mistaken.
they do timed ban waves so the botters buy new accounts knowing they have a certain amount of time before they get banned again.
if blizzard banned 24/7 the botters wouldn’t buy a new copy. the reality of it sucks, but blizzard actually likes the botters because revenue, and that’s all they care about.
actually long time no ban…
hate them……
Man… go to one of the websites in chat… they have been running since classic diablo 2… they have botting down to a science. Prices are determined by supply and demand right? They must have an abundant supply.
Not worth it. I can see some ban waves for s&gs after d4 but I believe the last few ban waves and multiple d2r sales that probably resulted in very poor sales has shown blizz that it isn’t worth their time. Clearly they have no intention of creating a warden type of system to instantly flag & ban them, too much development and too little return.
Just accept it. This is the state of ALLLLLLL ARPGs, including D3 and soon D4 otherwise someone please enlighten me and show me one ARPG that has figured out how to get rid of bots. Play for yourself and friends. If that doesn’t satisfy you then you can always go back to playing Skyrim…
There is no way that investing 10 or 20 dollars to buy a bot and sitting one person on it to engineer a warden update that bans that style of bot isn’t worthwhile. Banning just 5000 bots which is probably on the low end would be the break even point for someone making 100k a year. Meanwhile I’m sure most ban waves result in many more than that being banned.
Maybe they’ll get ChatGPT to start banning botters for them.
In all seriousness, in order to keep costs down, that’s what it will eventually come to… Some special form of AI running the detection/ban system automatically. The only time humans will intervene is for the appeal process.
We already provide everything that an AI detection system needs… Our input. Whether it’s input from our error prone fingers and human interface devices, or input from some program.
The original D2 battle.net servers were like 90% bots for the last 10 or so years. It was only a matter of time for D2R to follow suit.
I assume you don’t work for a large company do you? There’s so much red tape… I work for a car company, this is like asking why an automaker doesn’t pour all their development money on their niche cars that enthusiasts love but are barely purchased by the general public.
Sure it probably would make them money but at this point it is pretty obvious that blizz believes working on immortal and d4 has much more monetary value than developing new things and banning people on a niche game that barely makes them any money.
Have you taken a look at their year end financial statements? It will paint a very clear picture of how pathetic D2R is for their finances…
The cost benefit would always be a plus with almost no other factors to this. One employee working towrds banning at least 5000 botters per year. Not hard.
Botters steal accounts, they don’t buy the games.
where in diablos name did you come up with that nonsense.
if peoples accounts were getting stolen THAT much we would be hearing about it on these forums, i can assure you that is not what they do.
Why not make a Ladder for Botters and at the same time one for Bot enemies. I actually enjoyed botting in D2 LOD times in offline games. The efficient configuration of the bots in accord with your characters was fun. Also the Baal-Runs where really useful for fast leveling. On the other I can also understand the desire for a bot free version.
Botters won’t care about cheating with a bunch of other cheaters… The whole point of cheating is to gain the advantage over others who don’t cheat. The majority of botters are running for RMT item selling websites anyway. So there’d be practically no market for them to be there when everyone else is cheating.
Cheats don’t belong in multiplayer, period. No amount of sugarcoating will change that. If people want to cheat, keep it to single player where it doesn’t affect anyone elses game.
