No, it doesn’t solve the problem, because it means people who might have been playing with you otherwise now may not be. Which is the whole point. Our experience is affected, whether we use it or not.
Ok make bots and pickit online legit then. If you dont like it, dont use it. Problem solved… Right?
Same flawed logic. Changes in online mode affects online mode globaly. There is shared pvp, group play and economy for everyone. Players x would affect that in negative ways.
probably because i havent seen a single game in the game list since release day… just give me player 8
You dont need it, there is already fix for that in 2.4 patch.
And it was your decision to play game mode almost nobody is playing. Nobody forced you so why pick game mode played by tiny fracture of player base and then complain about it?
game list bug that has been fixed on the PTR. It will be addressed when the update comes out this week.
Just give us more control over our game
Those who like to play with others just bc they like to play with others will keep doing it
Those who splitfarm/hijack wont feel the need to do it anymore
The benefits of /X in bnet overshadow any of the minuscule downsides it may have
You already have control. THere’s a handy dandy single player mode for people who don’t like people
Im talking about bnet
I dont think this topic is about offline mode and its features
It is, as a matter of fact. And I know you’re talking about bnet. Single Player mode is the alternative that specifically exists for people who don’t want to play online multiplayer. Having that command in online play would harm the people who are specifically here for online multiplayer and the experience it offers. I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it countless times. People who ask for this don’t realize that it isn’t a win-win. It’s a lose-lose.
Not my case so nothing to do with me
Tbh i dont know what “online multiplayer” stands for
No one ever provided any good reason to belive this
It’s not an abbriviation? It’s two words with very clear meanings? Online meaning “on the internet” and multiplayer meaning “Playing with multiple people?”
It’s not a belief, it’s a fact. If you get your players X online, it will negatively impact the players who actually want to play with other people. If you don’t, well, you 'll keep complaining about not having it and we have to keep listening to it. And I do acknowledge that it would be nice for you. But if you have to harm other player’s experience to get a benefit for your own, well, that’s not a good deal now is it?
So it’s simple. If we do nothing, you lose. If they do what you want, then we lose.
Blizz call its d2r modes “online” and “offline” (with soft[ladder],hc[ladder] being modes inside these) so online soft is my game
I feel i could argue the same as i think my gaming experience is in fact negatively affected on behalfe of others
Blizzard doesn’t call anything “soft” whatever- that’s player made terminology. That doesn’t appear in any official documentation. And what people call it is irrelevant. Offline is Single Player only, by its very nature. So it is still technically correct, regardless of what you or anyone else calls it.
You’re not going to compete on the ladder playing alone with players X. It’s still faster EXP to have a group of people increasing the killing speed, even with the XP sharing. There’s no benefit to playing Ladder for someone like you other than the new runewords, which become available to everyone in all modes at season’s end.
If you only play alone, you don’t need ladder, you don’t need online at all unless you’re playing on multiple platforms.
how do you know there is a fix? did they mention it or are you just assuming like everyone else?
if games dont show up then how do you know how many people are playing?
there are games up right now but i can not see them… the size of the player base has nothing to do with the problem of not being able to see anyones games.
blaming the player for picking a superior game mode with a small player base is actually smooth in the brain lol
Ultimately, the devs said it’s not coming, so we can argue about it til the cows come home. but it won’t change anything. Clearly, they share the view that having that feature will compromise the official online experience.
Softcore - Alternative to Hardcore mode, normal play
http://classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/basics/glossary.shtml
I dont
Not official terminology. That terminology came from the players.
Official terminology is the terminology that is actually used in the game. They word “softcore” is not used in the game anywhere at all. Period.
Then you don’t need players X.
i just want to be able to see games and people are arguing with me about it lol a fundamental part of diablo is the social aspect of being able to pick games and talk to people and its literally non existent on pre expansion
