Why do you need /players x online

Since melee classes usualy struggle at baalruns, yeah thats real concern for anyone who is playing those builds +you would not have teleport sorc as all sorces would level up solo.

So in summation, the Zax argument against players X is, in total, that it would make life harder for XP leeches. /thread

Just because you cant kill stuff well doesnt mean you are xp leech. You are mixing things together, XP leecher is player who stays out of fight with Ondal staff for example.

Yes you finaly get it. Its no exactly with weak build but mostly melee characters and characters without ability to move at great speed vial teleport for example.

What should be goal of online game mode? have players playing together. Will /players X command help with that?

There are rewards for using bad behavior to gain the benefits of MP without doing coop play. That is, in fact, the major use of having more players in the game. That sort of behavior is the only thing this thread has defended. Otherwise, you should be encouraging design changes that reduce, eliminate, or even punish activities such as split farming or killing bosses to prevent quest completion.

Yes and yes. Let the split farmers go play in their own game. They are soloing anyway. Let them play without interfering with those that want to do coop. It makes for a better game for those that want to play together without people jumping in to do random killing elsewhere.

as i discussed earlier… making EVERY SINGLE GAME drop /players 8 loot when playing alone with no difficulty increase with have less of a detrimental impact than adding /players 8 loot.

sure it would completely ruin and incentive to play with others, but any implementation of “player x” would do that.

at least this way only being able to kill players one would still grant players 8 loot.

it would be stupid and pointless and it would be giving into the the whiny people who want more loot… but it would be less damaging to the game than competently destroying all build variety in addition to the extra loot

I will eventualy present some ideas to fix current issues. But players x is not that because it would create more issues than it would be fixing.

One issue, remember? Only issue is leecher XP is gone (which many people actually see as a positive).

There is more than one. Second is related to switching /players x on the fly for objects like super chests. People would massively run LK super chests. This is issue for blizzard as too many open games with solo players is not what they want.

Players 7-8 is not as op as people think. All my best runes so far dropped in players 1 chaos on single player.

I think my best rune from LK was Pul after doing a billion runs. Pretty nice when it comes to gems, charms jewels ect, but no luck on runes.

Honestly, I’m looking forward to breezing through solo online play during ladder. I’m honestly over single player and player x command.

There are two methods you can use which basicly results in easily finding multiple high runes in several hours.

One method(superchest) is not very usable online currently, second method can be done but is complicating as you need full game.

Why not play with others?

because this game is not designed for that, except arguably in xp farming.

Yeah, I know of the super chests. Sometimes I’ll just target them, others I’ll flip everything and kill the elites/champ packs for mfing.

Mainly because I like to play at my own pace without inconveniencing others.

Of course game is designed to be played with others, how can you say its not lol when it has MP only features?

People just choose to MF mostly solo because of greed. Because of own greed or because of greed of others who would not share. Thats not fault of game.

Game need more features to socialize, to make guilds and communities. So people can find easy others with same mindset and share items.

Sure it will improve socializing but in the year of 22, socializing is already at its easiest form so, in the end, it wont improve much further

I disagree, it can be much better. If i play the game, i want to find people in game to play with. I dont want to go to discord or other places to communicate. Old D2 was much better at it with live chat lobby and open profiles so we could check others who they are, get some info about them.

Overwatch has same issue, lack of proper lobby chat made meeting new people and making friends harder.

Its like common them lately in blizz games to make everyone annonymous and its honestly bad.

When I started battle net in D2, i was autojoin to chat from my country and i pretty we knew each other there often, we talked a lot on chat, made fruendships.

Current setup in D2R is bad, no profiles, lobby is dead because its only local IP games, chat is dead because of bots. Its hard to find friends to play with be suše chat often doesnt work even in games.
