The /players X option is not available in multiplayer. It doesn’t matter if you choose to play by yourself.

Multiplayer: Can play and trade with others. /players X isn’t needed.
Local/offline single player: Can’t play or trade with others. /players X is fine.

If you want /players X, play local single player. Otherwise if you want to play multiplayer, find some friends to play with, learn to work together to maximize the drops from the game.

its not just for mfing i also like the challenge of player 8 and finding 8 ppl to do different stuff in the same game is to hard

Agreed. I fully support Blizzard’s decision on this one to safeguard the multiplayer aspect of the game.

I agree on the challenge aspect. But we’ve also been playing the game for up to 23 years now. So what once was difficult has become easier via learning the ins and the outs of the game.

There are other ways they could boost the difficulty of the game.

One idea I’ve thought of is to put the Standard of Heroes to use:

“The monsters of Sanctuary are enraged by the sight of the Standard of Heroes that you carry. Their health, damage and density have been increased.”

  • The Standard of Heroes would function like a charm, raising the health, damage and density of monsters by 12.5%.
  • If 8 players with the SoH are in the game and in the same area, that would equal double health, damage and density.
  • The density modifier would not apply to uniques, super uniques or bosses.
  • Experience and drops would remain the same per monster. The increase in XP and drops would come from the increased density.

It’d put an end to the long standing uselessness of the Standard of Heroes, and add difficulty to the game without adding another difficulty level.

Another thought is a separate “Monster Power” type setting, which would be separate from the effect on monsters that the number of players has.

And they could always just add another difficulty, which would probably open up a whole new can of worms with people QQing that the difficulty is “too hard”.

We can come up with ideas all day long. Getting Blizzard to actually implement them is… Complicated.

It absolutely should be introduced to online play for the mere fact that you can pay for multiple accounts and achieve the same ends. Since Blizzard does not have a rule of against that, they should incorporate the option for anybody to have /players 8 on bnet. Otherwise it’s just P2W.

And those standing against it are supporting P2W.

Set the nodrop% rate to a fixed /players 3 (no party) regardless of how many are in the game, and I wouldn’t care if the option for setting player count was added.

It’d also fix the drop rate advantage that multi accounters have over those with one account.

P2W would exist either way. The prices would simply fall faster with /players x online. Zoom zoom.

Agree this is so stupid, just let us get the choice to have fun. The ones that think its fine as it is and not realizing the player base isnt that big and that u should go through discord to find players to create a group with etc dont use it.

For the rest of us just want to have fun at our own condition but still want to be available to ladder and other stuff just let us.

Dont see any point of not giving the people the choice.

And lets say its cause of they think it ruins early ladder climbing (how anyone can compete with streamers anyway). Thats the only valid argument I can find. Ok make it 1 week delay then let us choose the difficulty. Then the ones that compete is lvl99 a long time ago anyway.

Because its offline feature and it doesnt belong to online.

Ah, old revived topic…

You have choice, if you want px slider, you have choice to play offline. If you want high player setting online, group up with other players.

Not if you want to play your savegame across multiple devices. Say, between PC and console.

You can only have the same character on multiple devices if you play online, but if you play online you can’t have /players 8.

A small inconvenience, yes… But /players X doesn’t belong on closed battle.net. It never was on closed Battle.net, and should never be. It’s multiplayer for a reason… So you can play the game with others. If you choose to play solo on closed Battle.net, that is your option, but that doesn’t mean you should get the amenities of playing offline solo.

Besides, the original game developers never intended for all of us to blast through the game solo with /players X set to max. It wasn’t Blizzard North that opened the flood gate to higher rune drop rates with patch 1.13, it was the devs after the Blizzard North crew were long gone… Two years prior to the release of Diablo 3.

you can have players 8 if you have A. Money, and B. PC with enough ram to run it all. C. patience to turn them all on everytime you wanna play :stuck_out_tongue:

i run a 5p setup, it’s all my machines can handle, it’s worth it tho.
