I’m at a dead end. Im a fury druid. Last thing I need to do is farm Ubers for my torch, but I’m not geared enough to do that. Lilith’s area wrecks me.
I assume I need some rune gear. Been farming Trav, LK, Pit, Chaos, Worldstone for two weeks. I get an Ohm from a basket in LK.
I can’t farm with groups (I can’t see the loot when it drops… it’s gone before I can even see 90% of the time). Every now and then i’ll find a game where people are elsewhere and I’ll run around LK. Still can’t find anything. 2 weeks. Hours and Hours a day. Primarily farm Trav. My kill speed is good for single player.
I’m at a wall. If I continue, odds are, that I could spend another 2 weeks not finding anything. I have 3 bases. Need a Lo, Ber, or Zod. Or the ability to be ability to get higher runes to cube higher runes. This is insanity.

It wrecks everyone. There’s no amount of getting stacked against that. You gotta have do that stuff very carefully. AI-affecting spells are the best there too. Just bring a barb friend along and have him howl everything away. If you are on HC Ladder i can help with it.
As for high runes, just don’t expect to ever have them. They do exist, but their rarity is at a level where expecting to have a specific high rune requires a lot of efficiency and dedication. Find a way to play without them.

Can’t really say anything, or draw averages without a sample size, how many runs have you done in total? If you are specifically looking for high runes, then hundreds of runs might not cut it, try a few thousand and then report back.
Yeah, I have one too and I use the Fury Druid to farm Arcane Sanctuary
Easiest way is to use d2jsp or discord and find some people you can befriend and group with then do a bunch of Chaos runs with them. If they are good folks they will properly share the drops. Otherwise if you can’t make friends, then just find the highest density areas your strongest character can clear over and over as quick as possible. There really is no secret… yes cows, chaos and wsk are typically best but depending on your character and build may be hard to run on your own.
Time to quit D2 and play a more rewarding game like so many others have done.

farm the highrune chests there all though out the world every act act3 lower best spot tho i can find 10+ hrs per day this way contress also can drop Lo rune its honestly just rng but not to hard some say useing a barb item find on trav very much faster.
I’ve been seeing a lot of runes in the ACT IV maps called City of the Damned and River of Flame.
Ghost type enemies drop more runes, because of their loot table. So Countess, Arcane Sanctuary, Act 4, Act 3 Great Marsh. And Cows are also a good source. Add these to your rotation.
Join public games like baal runs and instead of running with the crowd, chest pop in LK as fast as you can. You’ll find some very decent runes in a few hours.
Runes are extremely rare in this game. It is best to trade for them. Wealth generation comes from the skill of being good at trading. Don’t handicap yourself by not trading with other players. Unless you want the challenge of SSF.
There are a lot of good items that new players just don’t bother to pick up or identify that are someone else’s treasure. Join Discord communities and see what people are looking for and start taking notes. Trading is particularly important for wealth generation and building a strong character.
My Necromancer Call Darth Pleaguis is so powerful and so wise, he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about (skellys and golem) from dying.
Thanks for all your feedback and concern. The scope of 1000s of runs puts it in perspective. I couldn’t imagine doing all the rune farming (I’ve sunk a lot of time into this) every season though. Wil probably start an offline dude and tinker around. The season won’t add any time related stress. Not that I’m stressed but I gnaw on it in the back of my mind.
been farming since ladder launch and i have only found: 2 mals, 2 guls, and an ist. heck, i have done forge hell on 3 chars now which yeilded 2 io and a fal. with the forge, i used to always get puls or higher in the past. i have NEVER had this much bad luck when finding runes in over 20 years. was the forge/rune drop rates nerfed or am i just that unlucky? ugh.
unless you are botting, i find this highly unlikely. but if it is true and you are doing legit runs, you should be buying lotto tickets and winning billions if you are that lucky. jeez.
Of course he’s botting. No teenager is going back to play some 22 year old game that was released before they were born.
This is some 30 year+ old who is expected to have a job and some sort of a life, and can’t sit there for 10 hours a day playing a 22 year old video game.
Botting. Which is also why he doesn’t want drop rates increased.
IMHO there is always ways of playing with non-runeword or very viable budget builds, especially since you should assume you might never find some runes, just use Google.
