They are higher than Diablo 3 and even Cyberpunk 2077 for 1080p (!), why are they so high?
Recommended for 1080p is 16GB, i5-9600 and a GTX 1060?

cause its gonna look dooooope
I agree, it’s going to be dope, but the requirements are higher than anything else Blizzard sells that are more graphically intense, including WoW Shadowlands and Overwatch.
D2R looks better then D4, just compare them. For now it looks better then any other Blizzard product.
My guess, those are just safe place holder values for pre-order. Actual system requirements might end up much lower, but they have to play it safe so they wouldn’t have to deal with refunds.
Do you people not have 3080s?
Most gamers are going to have a 1060 or better these days. I have an old outdated alienware gaming laptop from 4 years ago that I don’t even use for gaming anymore (used for productivity now) and it has 16gb of ram and a 1060 in it. I really don’t think it’s going to be difficult for the average person to get a system together that can run this game for quite cheap if they don’t already have one.
and in terms of the comparison with Diablo 3 and Cyberpunk, Diablo 3 has significantly more outdated graphics than Resurrected does. Cyberpunk on the other hand made ridiculous claims about how their game could run on both consoles and lower end PC systems, but realistically that game isn’t anywhere near playable on even a 1060 lol. Their lower end suggested system specs are kind of a joke.
Because the engine is evolving & advancing that’s why. It shouldn’t be too damanding, compared to Crysis Remastered.
I don’t but I currently owned RTX 2080 Ti.
To be completely honest, that’s not even that demanding for today’s hardware standards.
For D2 the CPU is a bit much (to be fair a bug exists in the game that causes higher CPU usage, old CPUs went from like 1% → 30% due to this bug), RAM is quite a bit too high, and the game used like no GPU at all really as well, most of which is just the new render engine requirements.
In any case, Cyberpunk isn’t really a comparison really because most people nowadays with their hardware can run it at 4K no RT really easily.
As for D3, the graphics in this remaster look far better than that of D3, hence probably the graphics requirement. Who knows though, maybe the remaster team is just bad at optimizations? In any case I’m rocking 1% hardware besides my CPU which is about 1.6 times better than that CPU anyways…
I guess this is for 1080p 60fps on ultra settings?!
I got a 3080 actually. It’s mining crypto right now that paid for this remaster for me.
GTX 1000 Series start to be the recommended card for every game at 1080p now . I guess it’s about time.
you keep using that “old and outdated” term I don’t think it means what you think it means.
“old and outdated” laptop with this configuration costs about $1,5k today.
My guesses:
Since it supports up to 4K, you’ll need a higher-end graphics card to begin with. No, not everyone will play at 4K or need even a 1000 series Nvidia card, but they need to average out the requirements to cover all possible PC configurations.
The developers said the game engine is the original D2 engine running with the 3D engine on top of it. It doesn’t sound like they built a single engine for this game, but rather have a 3D skinned engine synced with the original engine, so there are two engines running at the same time? If that’s the case, you need beefy requirements to keep the engines synced up.
Rending everything in 3D with real time lighting and other real time effects requires a lot of graphics power. They didn’t just add more pixels to the current game to make it 4K, they literally built 3D wireframes for everything in the game, and all those new models and structures have to react to the lighting and shadowing engines.
-These are just my guesses. But I would think this is why the requirements are beefier.
Hmm what do you mine, eth? I also have one and should really be doing something with it.
tbh most of the requirements look fine to me. The minimums are 8ish year old pc parts. The recommended kinda looks rough, my CPU is just under the recommended but everything else will be fine on my PC.
I only really imagine it is because as was mentioned earlier, there are 2 engines running that need to be synced up which is not an easy task.
Just run the original graphics. Will be fine. That’s what I plan to do on my 980GTX.
It probably has to do with how the game is engineered, considering a ‘modded’ old client is still running and on top of it is the newer shinier one.
