Why an online players 8 option is needed

This is really needed, and should be done on game creation. Don’t give me the “it would kill social play” either, because social play is already being killed by lack of Ploot and all the magic finders in other game types. Just join any Hell questing pub and usually at least 4/8 people in there are off mfing in other areas. Then inevitably the questing party starts getting wrecked because it’s a hard 8 player lobby and they’re all lvl 60-70.

“you’re just greedy and want more loot, play in your own game”. No, playing in my own game it’s just too easy and there’s hardly any loot. I basically walk through killing everything almost instantly and all the trash mobs hardly drop anything. Almost all of my gg drops so far have been clearing areas in high player games.

In 7+ player games the challenge actually feels more appropriate and the loot is much more rewarding from the trash mobs. The game actually feels properly tuned in players 8 for lack of a better description.

Most of the time when people team up to get through hell its because they are under geared in some way or they are finding it difficult solo.
So the added difficulty of increased player count just makes it smarter for them to create private games…
That equals less public games

Not going to get into the whole ploot vs FFA loot thing but yeh FFA loot equals less public games.

If they don’t change something public games just wont be a thing unless they are run by robots or level restricted by the people who created them so there wont be enough public 8 player games to go around.

I’ve been saying we need /players8 on battlnet for a while too. It’s one of a few options I’ve posted about that would fix some of what’s wrong with D2.

In before some A…clown turns up and says it will somehow ruin the game lol.

“But muh economy” they say, when the economy is already being slammed by d2jsp and botters. I don’t care if somebody wants to run players 8 and open chests in LK all day, at that point they SHOULD be rewarded for playing the game like an actual job.

The mfer epidemic is even ruining the few dueling games I’ve seen. Like half of the people will be dueling, and the other half is off running arcane or the pit or something.

Drop rate needs to be buffed. In total I think I’ve played D2 in one form or another since 2000.
I’ve never seen a Zod drop.
I’ve never seen a SOJ drop.
I’ve never seen a Tyrael’s Might drop.
There’s an enormous number of things that I’ve had to trade for with high runes that I never had. I had to trade up, which some people get a kick out of. I don’t. I hated it. Still do.

Now I’m level 82 and still armed with a spirit shield and an alibaba because I can’t find anything better even with 320%+ mf.

Increase the drop rate, trading becomes a thing that is still there but not nearly as necessary. If increasing the drop rate with players 8 does the trick that’s good too.

Fact is, even on the old D2, most of the economy was created out of thin air by bots. Not players playing the game.

The bots happened because the drop rates were terrible to start with.

D2R: The opportunity to right one things that BlizzNorth botched hard.

You have single play for that. Multiplayer is there to play with others. Not with command /players x

botters are already ruining the game, giving people /players 8 would make the botting problem tenfold.

Nah. It would give parity to regular players, and also lower the costs of the items in the economy while also driving botters/sellers like p2pahwhatever out because their profit margins drop.

I looked. Someone is already selling a Tyrael’s Might for $13000. :expressionless:

Another thread on this …

Play single player if you want players8. You want more drops so you progress and get rich faster.

I guess $300 is more your in your price range? lol

No, I want to be able to take on a greater challenge for better loot. In one player I basically walk around without a care killing whole screens in little time.

/players was only ever intended for offline/lan play as it would be harder/impossible to have as many players as you would want to have. It also serves as a difficulty adjustment for single player. That’s the reason it exists. It was never a thing for bnet and it’s fine the way it is.

i agree that p1 rates and p7 rates is light n day in terms of drops
i think the solution is to buff rates in lower play count or like add more loot tiers
like p2 loot and p4 loot would at least be an improvement

dont honestly care if they add /players 7 for private but at the same time i fear they would nerf LK lol

just start botting 4Head

Don’t make sense to me! Well, if I want to play with only two friends, we are in 3 people… It’s online and not single players, right? Ok. So, I really need to fill up the room with other 5 random ppl that will be fast fingers on loot… or I’ll need to kill 10x more bosses to get a single decent item… doesn’t make sense at all… This way, a system like need before greed with roll like WoW do should be the best option. So guys has a chance to take de item! In my case playing as Sorcerer, I never take items, just guys on meelee! When it’s on friends game it’s ok! But at random… don’t work! So the point make all sense to me… maybe the option he give isn’t the best one!
